This list ranks the ten largest Houston properties by the room count each files with the Texas Comptroller, and gives the straight-line distance from each filed address to the city's stadium and convention venues.
How this list was built
TexasHotelSearch publishes a page for each of 754 Houston properties reporting state hotel occupancy tax, from Comptroller filings current through May 2026. The Houston market page states 742 hotels filing room tax and 68,260 registry rooms, with 1,605 rooms added year over year.
Trailing twelve-month market room revenue is $1.8 billion, down 4.5 percent against the prior twelve months. The market page attributes the drop to the comparison year, which carried the May 2024 derecho and Hurricane Beryl displacement demand.
Room counts are self-reported filings. A renovation or a flag change can leave the filed figure behind the building, so confirm inventory with the property.
What a squad needs, in room terms
Double occupancy halves the room count. A 20-person squad travelling as ten double rooms for three nights uses 30 room-nights. At an example rate of $200 a night, that is $6,000 before tax, $5,100 at 15 percent off and $3,600 at 40 percent off.

The venues your team is travelling to
Houston's venues sit across the city. NRG Stadium held seven 2026 FIFA World Cup matches, with roughly half a million visitors projected on promoter figures. The George R. Brown Convention Center is one year into a $2 billion transformation, with a 700,000 square foot south building targeted for 2028 and the 2028 Republican National Convention booked into the building. Daikin Park and Toyota Center are downtown. The University of Houston and Rice University carry the college venues.

Bed configurations, breakfast and bus parking
None of Houston's filings publish bed configuration, breakfast opening time, coach or trailer parking, or shared-floor policy. Those four answers decide a team stay, and no rank here supplies them. Put all four questions in the request in writing.
If you have to be within walking distance
Three of the ten sit inside the downtown venue cluster: Hilton Americas, Marriott Marquis and Hyatt Regency, at 3,158 rooms between them. Four Seasons Hotel Houston files 468 rooms 0.3 miles from the convention center, and Houston Magnolia Hotel files 314 rooms 0.5 miles out.
Putting the request together
