A 2,000-Seat Room That Already Hosts Company Meetings
The Carolina Opry Theater stands at 8901 North Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The building opened in 1992 at the intersection of North Kings Highway and Business 17. Its auditorium seats up to 2,000 guests. The venue's own list of past bookings names corporate annual meetings, awards ceremonies, graduations, local talent showcases and company anniversary celebrations. It also runs national touring acts.
That list is the reason a corporate planner can put a morning general session and an evening show on one booking. The room seats a company for the session and seats the same company after dinner with a stage program in front of it.
The Stage and What It Carries
The stage ships with full sound, lighting and video equipment. It carries fly rigs, a large LED video screen, jumbo video screens on each side of the stage, and five giant LED screens on stage. A loading dock sits at the back. Technical specifications arrive on request, which is the document a production company needs before it quotes a set.
The lobby gives the meeting a second floor of space. Ceilings run 40 feet. The main level holds a grand piano, a gift shop, two concession stands, four restrooms and two box offices. Twin staircases lead to balcony seating, an art gallery of local artists, two more restrooms and a third concession stand.
Pair a Morning Session With a 1 p.m. Matinee
The Carolina Opry Christmas Special runs Nov. 2 through Dec. 31, 2026. The calendar carries 64 performances across 44 dates. Twenty of those performances are matinees starting at 1 p.m. and ending at 3:30 p.m. The other 44 start at 7 p.m. and end at 9:30 p.m., including the Dec. 31 performance. The matinee list opens on Nov. 5 and closes on Dec. 22.
A matinee date turns one coach into a full day. A company takes the auditorium for a morning session, breaks for lunch, and stays seated for a 1 p.m. show that clears at 3:30 p.m. The group is back on the road before the evening traffic builds on Highway 17. A planner who wants the evening program instead books the 7 p.m. performance and finishes at 9:30 p.m.
Group Terms That Set the Deadline
Any group of 22 or more qualifies for group rates. The theater adds two complimentary tickets with 22 paid tickets. No deposit is required. Final count and payment fall due two weeks before the performance in the Regular and Value price tiers, and 30 days before in the Premium seating tier. The theater runs no payment plans. Seats added after payment are paid at the time of addition.
Payment runs by card, check or cash. Once paid, a booking carries no refund. The theater offers transfer and rain check options for Calvin Gilmore productions on 48 hours' notice. Every change and cancellation request goes in writing, by email or fax, and must land by the final count and payment date for that order. Performing Arts Series events sit outside those terms and are paid in full at booking.
Group pricing arrives as a quote. The groups page publishes an exclusive group pricing line and no rate card. A planner requests the figure through the group desk. The bookmyteam.org RFP desk carries the room side while the theater quotes the seats, and the group rate calculator gives a working nightly figure for the hotel block.
Getting a Coach In and Out
The theater sits on 11.5 acres with parking around the building. Parking is free for cars and coaches. A designated motorcoach area runs along the east side of the theater, facing Highway 17 Business. A greeter meets each coach and walks the group to its seats. The theater asks drivers to hold unloading until the greeter gives the instruction. A ramp on the east side reaches the auditorium without steps.
The main floor is fully wheelchair accessible. Every seat on that floor is reachable without a stair. Seat arms on the floor move, which allows a transfer into a large portion of the seating, and several sections carry full wheelchair seating. The theater asks for wheelchair needs as early as possible.
Arrival should land no later than 30 minutes before curtain. Several numbers in the production run under very low lighting, and the theater warns that seating a large group after the start is unsafe. Late groups are seated at the manager's discretion. Groups arriving by coach are greeted and seated without paper tickets. Groups arriving by car collect their tickets before the show date and distribute them internally.
The Numbers to Call
The box office answers on (843) 913-4000 and (800) 843-6779. The corporate line is (843) 913-1400, which is the desk for a buyout, an awards ceremony or a company anniversary. Group Sales answers on (843) 913-1450 and (800) 633-1508.
Three questions set the quote. Ask what the auditorium costs for a morning session ahead of a booked matinee. Ask how the five on-stage LED screens and the fly rigs affect load-in time on a same-day event. Ask what catering the two concession stands support for a seated lunch between the session and the curtain.
