Washington runs its cherry blossom festival from March 20 to April 11, 2027. The parade takes Saturday, April 10, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM along Constitution Avenue NW. Ten or more colleagues can watch from reserved grandstand seats priced at $28, $34 and $45 a seat.
What each seat price buys
Price buys location. Telecast seating at the east end costs $45 and sits between 7th and 9th Streets NW beside the National Archives. The west end holds the finale. Performance Zone seats there cost $34, in the block between 16th and 17th Streets NW by the Washington Monument. Standard seating in that same west-end block costs $28.
The parade runs 10 blocks of Constitution Avenue. It carries more than 3,000 participants: helium balloons, floats, marching bands from across the country and celebrity performers. It steps off at 7th Street and reaches the West End around 11:30 AM.
Group sales start at ten
The festival sells reserved group seating to parties of 10 or more. A group booking keeps the party together along the route. The festival assigns seating by reservation date, so an early reservation gives the group a better chance at its preferred block. A reservation placed by November 5, 2026 also earns a thank-you gift from the festival.
Cost scales with the tier. Ten seats run $280 at the $28 tier, $340 at $34 and $450 at $45. Twenty seats run $560, $680 and $900.
The festival lists the parade as free with tickets available. A team that wants a fixed meeting point pays for the grandstand.
Ticket rules for the whole party
Every grandstand guest needs a ticket except children under two. A child under two without a ticket sits on the lap of a ticket holder. The parade runs rain or shine. The festival discourages umbrellas and strollers in the grandstand bleachers, and the bleachers carry no stroller storage.
Three costs sit behind this outing: seats, rooms and transport. Only the seats carry a published price, so a planner can fix that line against the confirmed headcount and move to the other two.
A Friday arrival and a Saturday departure
The parade starts at 11:00 AM Saturday. A Friday arrival and a Saturday evening departure covers the event in one hotel night. Ten colleagues sharing double rooms book five rooms for that night. Ten single rooms book ten room nights.
The one-night pattern works because the parade clears the route at 1:00 PM. The team leaves the grandstand, eats, and reaches the airport with the afternoon intact.
Where the rooms sit
Marriott Bonvoy Hotels of Greater Washington, DC hold the festival's preferred hotel provider designation. The festival publishes that list under 19 neighborhood headings, twelve inside the District and seven in Virginia and Maryland.
The list carries property names and short descriptions. It publishes no nightly rate. The festival's own entries describe access to the National Mall by Metro, on foot or by bicycle, which gives a planner a filter before price enters the conversation.
A group rate request starts with dates and a room count. The group rate calculator returns an estimate for that set, and the RFP form sends the request to properties. How it works sets out the sequence.
The 115th anniversary
The festival commemorates the 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to Washington. The 2027 edition marks the 115th anniversary of that gift. The festival runs four weeks and reports more than 1.6 million visitors. Most events are free and open to the public, and the parade sells grandstand seats for the two hours it runs.
Book the seats first. Seating assignment follows the reservation date, and the room block follows the headcount that the seats lock in.
