Three Events on One Hotel Bill
The 51st Marine Corps Marathon starts at 7:20 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25, from Route 110 in Arlington. The same weekend carries an 8K and a Kids Run at West Potomac Park on Saturday. The MCM Hall of Fame Dinner runs at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill. A company that sends four runners, brings their families and hosts clients can route all of it through one set of rooms.
The organizer lists the race as the third largest marathon in the United States. It lists the race as the largest marathon in the world that offers no prize money. Its nickname for the race is the People's Marathon.
The Weekend Grid
Packet pickup and the Health & Fitness Expo open at the Building Museum on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from noon to 6 p.m. The expo runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The Hall of Fame Dinner begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill. The organizer lists it as invitation only.
The 8K runs from 7:20 to 8:45 a.m. on Saturday at West Potomac Park. The Kids Run follows from 9 to 10 a.m. at the same park, with four start times inside that hour. Children ages 5 to 12 run a 0.8K course.
On Sunday the opening ceremony runs at 7 a.m., the wheelchair field starts at 7:05, the duos at 7:07 and the runners at 7:20. The Finish Festival runs 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Rosslyn.
The Arrival Date Comes From Packet Pickup
Every participant collects a bib in person at the Building Museum, with the e-Card emailed beforehand and a photo ID in hand. Proxy pickup is allowed. The person collecting presents a copy of the completed e-Card, a copy of the runner's photo ID and their own ID. All runners are screened on entry to the museum.
Packet pickup does not run on race morning for standard entries. Runners who bought Race Day Packet Pick-Up are notified separately. A Friday arrival covers the dinner and leaves Saturday for the expo. A Saturday arrival still clears pickup before the 6 p.m. close. Guests can collect for the runners, and that keeps the athletes' arrival flexible.
Entry Terms the Travel Manager Inherits
The 51st MCM standard rate is $240. The organization does not permit transfers or deferrals for the 2026 events, and all registrations are final. Refund Protect through TEAK is the optional coverage sold at registration. No virtual race runs in 2026.
The required pace is 14 minutes per mile, and runners must make the gauntlets. Straggler buses follow the rear pace and collect runners who fall behind. The course closes at 3:05 p.m. The minimum age for the marathon is 14. The Kids Run takes children from 5 to 12.
Two Groups, Two Departure Points
Metro opens at 5 a.m. on race morning. Runners reach Runners Village in the Pentagon North parking lot through the Pentagon or Pentagon City stations. Shuttles run from 23rd Street and Crystal Drive in Crystal City to Runners Village between 4:30 and 6:30 a.m. A driver can drop runners at Kiss and Run on the corner of Army Navy Drive and Fern Street. Free parking sits in the underground lots at 23rd and Crystal Drive.
Spectators move the other way. From the finish, shuttles leave Oak Street and Wilson Boulevard in the Finish Festival for Crystal City between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Arlington Cemetery station opens at 8:30 a.m. and sits a short walk from mile 25.
Where the Cheering Section Stands
The organizer publishes five viewing locations. The Lincoln Memorial side of the course shows runners at mile 10 and again at mile 16. The National Mall shows them between miles 17 and 19. Crystal City covers miles 22 and 23. The finish sits at the Marine Corps War Memorial, with the celebration in Rosslyn. Weekend Metro waits can reach 15 minutes, and Track-A-Runner sends splits to the people following from the sidewalk.
The Room Side
Jems Hospitality Group is the only authorized housing agent for the Marine Corps Marathon. The organizer prints a warning about pirating sites that take race bookings. The MCM pages publish no nightly rate for any property, so the number comes out of the request.
A Friday check-in and a Monday check-out gives three nights, Oct. 23 to 26. That covers the dinner, the 8K and Kids Run, the marathon, and a morning after that keeps everyone off a Sunday night flight. A Thursday arrival adds a night and puts the expo on Friday. Runners with fixed bibs can hold rooms first, and family and client rooms follow once the spectators commit.
What to Release, and When
The release decision belongs on the property's calendar. Ask each hotel for the date its cancellation terms change, then set the spectator cut-off a week inside that date. A client who confirms after the release takes a room at whatever the property quotes that week.
The dinner needs its own list. The Hall of Fame Dinner runs by invitation, so confirm the guest list with the Marine Corps Marathon Organization before Friday rooms are booked for the group.
Book the Block
bookMyTeam takes group room requests at bookmyteam.org/rfp/submit. The sports team hotel booking page covers the race-weekend pattern, and bookmyteam.org/group-rate-calculator prices a block before the request goes out.
