Three published start times

Elite News runs its 40th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade and Festival on Monday, 18 January 2027. The day has three published parts. The Corporate Breakfast starts at 7:00 a.m. at the African American Museum at Fair Park, 3536 Grand Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75215. The People's Parade steps off at 10:00 a.m. from Forest Avenue and South Lamar Street, travels east on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and ends inside Fair Park. The Community Festival opens at 12:00 p.m. at the Tower Building at Fair Park, 1221 Midway Plaza, Dallas, Texas 75215. The organiser puts attendance at approximately 200,000.

Breakfast seats sit inside the sponsorship ladder

The organiser publishes no standalone breakfast ticket. Breakfast access arrives with a sponsorship level, and the seat count rises with the price. Supporting on $2,500 carries two tickets. Commemorative on $5,000 carries four tickets and a 10 by 20 exhibit booth. Goodwill on $10,000 carries six tickets and a booth. Renaissance on $15,000 carries six tickets, a decorated float and a booth. Legacy on $20,000 carries eight tickets, a float, two company banners carried in the parade and category exclusivity. Presenting on $50,000 carries ten tickets and a float.

Title and Telecast on $75,000 carries twenty tickets, two 10 by 20 exhibit booths, eight commercial spots of 60 seconds each in the parade telecast, a float, product placement at the venue and a joint press release.

The cost per breakfast seat runs $1,250 on the $2,500 and $5,000 levels, $1,667 on $10,000, $2,500 on $15,000 and $20,000, $5,000 on $50,000 and $3,750 on $75,000. A team of six reaches the breakfast on the Goodwill level for $10,000.

The float is a separate line

A decorated float is published as an additional participation option at $5,500. A float or trailer also carries its own registration fee of $150, and every participant must provide a valid identification card and insurance information for each moving vehicle and trailer. Goodwill on $10,000 plus a float on $5,500 comes to $15,500. Renaissance on $15,000 delivers six breakfast tickets, a float and a booth for $500 less. Run that sum before adding a float to a lower level.

Smaller festival lines

Two further options sit below the sponsorship ladder. A festival exhibit table costs $500 for a 10 by 10 space, and an in-kind sponsorship is listed at $500. Both appear on the commitment form beside the cash levels, so a company that wants a presence at the Tower Building without a breakfast package has a published route to one.

Registration fees by participant type

The organiser publishes a fee for each type of entry. Trailers and floats pay $150. Trucks pay $50. Cars pay $30. Motorbikes, ATVs and golf carts pay $25 each. Groups and organisations register free, and walkers register free. A company that wants staff on foot along the boulevard registers a group at no charge.

Sign-ups close 11 January

Sign-ups opened 1 September 2026 and close 11 January 2027. One form covers parade, vendor, volunteer and sponsor interest. The organiser describes a submission as the start of a conversation and states that it carries no guaranteed place.

A night either side

A 7:00 a.m. breakfast puts the crew in Dallas the night before. Elite News publishes no hotel partner, block or nightly rate. The bookMyTeam Dallas directory lists 790 hotels available. A group request goes to 50 or more properties, and bookMyTeam publishes a group saving band of 15 to 40 percent. Its how-it-works page states that most hotels offer group rates for 10 or more rooms a night, and some discount from five rooms depending on season and availability. Three rooms for two nights on a planning rate of $149 cost $894. The rate holds as an input for the request.

A routing estimate from the museum at Fair Park puts Love Field at 7.6 miles and about 17 minutes, and DFW at 22.7 miles and about 33 minutes. DART's Green Line stops at Fair Park Station on Parry Avenue and at MLK, Jr. Station south of Robert B. Cullum Boulevard. Fair Park holds more than 14,000 parking spaces and prohibits overnight parking, with towing at the owner's expense.

The Monday total

Six people, three rooms for two nights and a float add up. Rooms on the $149 planning rate come to $894. Goodwill at $10,000 carries the six breakfast seats, and the float at $5,500 brings the sponsorship line to $15,500. The Monday totals $16,394 before travel. Renaissance at $15,000 carries the same six seats and a float, and the day totals $15,894.
