Three Vehicles Per Household, 3,200 in Total
Run to the Sun returns March 18 to 20, 2027 for its 38th year at the old Myrtle Square Mall, 2501 North Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. Show hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all three days.
Registration is limited to three vehicles per participant household, and registrations are not transferable. Only cars and trucks from 1989 and earlier can be registered. The field is capped at 3,200 vehicles.
Three per household sets the shape of a club caravan. Ten entrants drawn from four families fit inside the cap. Ten entrants drawn from three families do not.
An Oversize Rig Costs Two Entries
A vehicle that takes more than one standard parking space must buy two registration entries and park in the grass area. Registration costs $80 from September 7, 2026 through January 31, 2027 and $100 from February 1. One oversize rig therefore comes to $160 before February 1 and $200 after.
Each registration includes one vehicle and two adult three-day passes. Ten registrations admit twenty adults on the passes alone.
Spectator tickets run $20 for a single day and $35 for three days in advance. Military and veteran three-day tickets cost $15 and cover all family members. Children 12 and under enter free with an adult.
Trailers Park Outside the Grounds
The promoter bars trailers inside the event grounds. All trailer parking is paid directly to the lot owner, and the cost varies by location and trailer size. The event page lists five lots that accept trailers, among them A&A Storage at 3041 Forestbrook Road, the Myrtle Beach Pavilion Parking Garage at 914 North Kings Highway and the Myrtle Beach Elks Lodge at 606 27th Avenue North for overnight and oversize parking.
Two locations refuse trailers. The event page reserves Pelican Stadium at 1251 21st Avenue North for spectator parking and states that trailers parked there are towed at the owner's expense. Waccamaw Pottery Mall no longer offers trailer parking to participants.
One Entry Route for Registered Vehicles
Registered cars and trucks enter from 27th Avenue North, either from Oak Street heading north or from Kings Highway heading south. The promoter's queuing rule is explicit: "DO NOT BLOCK INTERSECTIONS WHEN LINING UP FOR ENTRY, police will remove you from line and ask you circle back to the end of the line."
Spectators enter at 27th Avenue North, at Oak Street and Myrtle Place by Rock and Jump, at Kings Highway and Myrtle Place, and on Kings Highway at 25th Avenue North.
Handicapped parking sits at the southeast corner of the site, off North Kings Highway and Myrtle Place. The promoter admits recognised single-occupant handicapped scooters and bars golf carts and all-terrain vehicles.
The Window Card Check at the Gate
The window card must match ID to enter. The vehicle must match its window card on year, make and model. A vehicle entered for 1990 or later is asked to leave without a refund. An owner can change a vehicle at packet pickup, or by email before packets are mailed.
Packets for registrations received before February 1 are mailed to the billing address. Registrations after that date collect at Four Points by Sheraton Myrtle Beach, 101 Fantasy Harbour Boulevard, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579.
Wednesday Sets the Arrival
Registered vehicles may enter the show site to park on Wednesday, March 17 between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. The customer service desk opens that day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Four Points. The no-entry rule closes the site outside published show hours, and it applies to a caravan that arrives early.
Spectator parking carries a two-page split. The schedule page puts spectator parking and city buses at Pelican Stadium, 1251 21st Avenue North, running 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on show days. The event information page asks spectators to keep out of Pelican Stadium, names Myrtle Waves Water Park at 3000 Mr Joe White Ave as the shuttle lot less than 2.7 miles from the show, and prices off-site parking at $5 a vehicle with the proceeds to the Carolina Forest NJROTC Booster Club. Buses run every 10 to 15 minutes and each one is handicapped accessible.
Confirm the lot with the organiser before the manifest is printed.
Where the Caravan Sleeps
The event publishes a partner hotel list with a code or a phone line for each property. Four Points by Sheraton Myrtle Beach is the host hotel on 843-236-1000. Dayton House Resort at 2400 North Ocean Boulevard sits a short walk from the site with limited trailer parking. Landmark Resort at 1501 South Ocean Boulevard holds trailer parking and sits three miles out. Myrtle Beach KOA Resort at 613 5th Avenue South holds reserved trailer parking.
No partner entry prints a nightly rate. A caravan that wants one contract across a block of rooms can send the requirement through bookMyTeam's RFP route, which puts it to 50 or more hotels per destination in one request. bookMyTeam publishes group rates at 10 or more rooms per night, with some properties discounting from five rooms depending on season and availability. Ten entrants in ten rooms for three nights comes to 30 room nights, which sits inside that band.
What to Settle Before the Deposit
Four questions need an answer before money moves. Ask each property for its nightly rate and the date it releases unsold rooms. Ask the trailer lot how many spaces it holds and what a three-day stay costs. Count the oversize vehicles before February 1, since each one adds a second $80 entry. Check every window card against its registration before the vehicle reaches the entry line.
