Two nights, fifteen ropers, one gold buckle
The Wrangler WPRA National Breakaway Finals runs Friday, December 18 and Saturday, December 19, 2026, at Will Rogers Coliseum. The venue address is 3401 W Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76107, inside the Will Rogers Memorial Center campus.
The top 15 in the WPRA breakaway standings at the close of the regular season on September 30 qualify. The format is a 10-round championship across the two nights, and every competitor ropes in every round. The association calls breakaway the fastest event in professional rodeo.
This is the only event where a professional breakaway roper can win the title World Champion Breakaway Roper. Wrangler has held the title sponsorship since the championship began in 2020.
The ticket
Seats run $44 to $87 plus tax. Tickets sell through Ticketmaster.
The event record carries no group desk, no group rate and no hospitality package for these two nights. A client party of twenty buys twenty individual seats. The arena's group desk takes parties of nine or more for select events, so put the question to the desk with the seat order.
Doors and the round clock
The arena's event page carries the clock. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the performance starts at 7:00 p.m. That hour sets the coach, the dinner and the arrival plan.
Put the round schedule to the box office with the seat order. The WPRA release carries the dates, the venue and the price band, and no per-night round list.
The dinner window
A 7 p.m. start compresses the evening. A party that sits down at 8 p.m. misses the opening rounds. Two plans work: a table that finishes by 5:00 p.m., or dinner booked after the final round on a clock the box office confirms.
The coliseum sits in the Cultural District. Dinner before the roping needs a reservation that holds its time. Tell the restaurant the coach leaves at 5:30 p.m. and hold them to it.
Book the table for the number the ticket order confirms. The WPRA publishes no dining or hospitality recommendation with the event.
Ground transport and the coach
Visit Fort Worth routes Cultural District motor-coach parking through Will Rogers Memorial Center and Standard Parking Company at 817.392.2000. Downtown coach parking sits near Trinity Metro Fort Worth Central Station off Jones Street.
Ask the box office where a coach drops a party and where it loads after the last round. The campus holds the coliseum alongside the museums of the Cultural District and Ariat Arena, so a coach movement needs a named point and a named hour.
Set the return clock with the driver before the party walks in. A dropped party cannot reach a coach that has moved.
No host hotel is named
The event publishes no host hotel, no block code and no group rate. A group that wants rooms near 3401 W Lancaster Ave builds its own block, and it should say so to the client before the invitation goes out.
bookMyTeam lists 255 hotels in Fort Worth ready to respond to a team rate request. The list includes Courtyard by Marriott Fort Worth University Drive at 3150 Riverfront Drive, 76107, the coliseum's postcode.
A Friday arrival and a Saturday departure cover a Saturday client night. Add the Thursday night when the party wants both performances.
Ask for a signed room list and one invoice
Two documents carry a client trip. The first is a signed room list with every guest name against a room type and a night. The second is one invoice from one property, addressed to the company that pays.
A block held on a verbal list loses rooms when a name changes. A bill split across three folios takes a week to reconcile. Put both requirements in the request, and hold the property to them at contract.
Send one rate request to the properties that answer, and confirm the coach staging question with the venue in the same week.
Who runs the two nights
The WPRA named its 2026 contract personnel on September 24, 2026. Garrett Yerigan announces for the third time, having called the 2025 and 2020 editions. Steve Kenyon joins him for a second appearance, having announced the 2024 edition in Las Vegas. Amanda Sanders returns as official event secretary for a third year and handles the final calculations that decide the gold buckle.
Shawna Ray and Jayme Pemberton time the event for the first time. Benje Bendele takes the music direction. James Phifer shoots as official photographer, and Bronc Boehnlein works as chute boss. PRCA All-Around World Champion Ryan Jarrett supplies the calves.
What the party is buying
Two evenings of the top 15 breakaway ropers in the world and a world title decided across 10 rounds. The Women's Professional Rodeo Association started in 1948 as the Girls Rodeo Association and took its present name in 1981. The coliseum has hosted Western sport since 1936.
