Two published prices for one parade

The 45th Annual Official Martin Luther King Jr. Parade of the City of Dallas steps off at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, 18 January 2027. The theme is "From Dream to Action — 45 Years Walking the Path of Justice." H.E.L.P. produces the parade as a signature event of the City of Dallas MLK Celebration. A message from Martin Luther King III on the parade page recognises the City of Dallas, H.E.L.P. and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center.

A company has two published ways in. A marching entry costs $150. A corporate partnership starts at $1,000 and runs to $30,000 and above. Both price lists sit on the organiser's site.

The entry price and what it covers

The standard parade application charges $150 for 50 participants and includes one vehicle. Each additional vehicle costs $15, capped at five. A car club pays $200 for its first five cars and $15 for each car after that, capped at 20 cars, with no walkers. A motorcycle club pays $200 for its first ten cycles and $15 for each additional cycle, capped at three, with no walkers. A trail ride group pays $150 for 50 participants and one horse, with each additional horse at $15, capped at three.

A full 50-person unit costs $3 a participant. A company that brings 200 staff files four entries and pays $600, with one vehicle included in each entry.

Paperwork that travels with the entry

The application requires proof of insurance for every vehicle at submission, plus a copy of each driver's licence and the vehicle's insurance. Horse entries add Coggins and health certificates, and the Planning Committee authorises each horse before it walks. A signed release and waiver of liability goes with the form. The organiser states that an unsigned waiver voids the application.

The rules carry the operating terms. Every participant displays the assigned number on the chest or stomach, and the numbers arrive in the logistics packet at the mandatory safety meeting. Band and dance units dress uniformly, and chaperones wear matching attire. Candy, food, drinks and gum stay out of the line-up area once a unit is placed. Nothing is tossed to spectators, because a unit that tosses items can be removed from the route. Signage needs approval in advance.

The partnership ladder

Six partnership levels run from Supporting at $1,000 to Presenting at $30,000 and above. Each level carries VIP grandstand passes and waives parade entry fees.

Supporting gives logo recognition on the event site, five VIP seating passes and one waived entry fee. Community at $2,500 adds a 20-word written statement, ten passes and one waived entry. Community Impact at $5,000 adds mid-line placement, fifteen passes and one waived entry. Unity at $10,000 adds a 50-word statement, early-to-mid placement, ten route banners, twenty-five passes and two waived entries. Legacy at $15,000 adds a decorated float, first-quarter placement, ten banners, thirty-five passes and two waived entries.

Presenting at $30,000 adds two decorated floats, elite placement, twenty banners at 3 by 5 feet, forty-five passes, three waived entries and a table for ten at the 2027 MLK Scholarship and Award Gala. It also carries a scholarship presentation and a 100-word statement on the event site.

What the ladder costs per seat

Net of the waived entry fees, one grandstand pass costs $170 at the $1,000 level, $235 at $2,500, $323 at $5,000, $388 at $10,000, $420 at $15,000 and $657 at $30,000. Each higher level adds line-up placement, banners, a float or broadcast time to the package.

A company that wants its logo on the event site and five grandstand passes spends $850 above the price of one parade entry. Fifteen passes and mid-line placement cost $4,850 above it.

The Tuesday that voids a place

One representative from every organisation attends the mandatory logistics meeting on Tuesday, 12 January 2027 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting runs at MLK Center Building A, 2922 Martin Luther King Boulevard, Dallas, Texas 75215. The organiser states that a unit which misses the meeting forfeits its place.

Money that stays with the parade

The organiser publishes a no-refund policy and asks each group to plan before paying. Emergency circumstances may earn an exception. A paid organisation that cannot attend can be credited toward the following year. A postponement or cancellation by an Act of God is handled in a later communication. Payment runs online, by money order or by cashier's check payable to Hope Encourage Love Protect, at 400 N. Ervay Street #133054, Dallas, Texas 75313.

Rooms and the morning of

H.E.L.P. publishes no hotel partner, room block or nightly rate. The bookMyTeam Dallas directory lists 790 hotels available. A group request goes to 50 or more properties, and bookMyTeam publishes a group saving band of 15 to 40 percent. Its how-it-works page states that most hotels offer group rates for 10 or more rooms a night, and some discount from five rooms depending on season and availability. On a planning rate of $149, five rooms for two nights cost $1,490. The same booking reads $1,266 at 15 percent off and $894 at 40 percent off. Treat $149 as an input for the request.

Fair Park holds more than 14,000 parking spaces inside the grounds. It prohibits overnight parking, tows at the owner's expense, and publishes no designated area for large vehicles. Its events line is 214-670-8400. DART's Green Line stops at Fair Park Station on Parry Avenue at the fairgrounds entrance and at MLK, Jr. Station south of Robert B. Cullum Boulevard. The Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center at 2922 Martin Luther King Boulevard sits 1.15 road miles from Fair Park, about six minutes by routing estimate. The same estimate puts Love Field 7.6 miles from the park, about 17 minutes.

How to file

The organiser answers questions on 469-592-1388 and contact@help-dallas.org. The standard application and the school band application are both open for 2027. Rooms go through the group request form, and the Dallas directory carries the property list.
