Ten days, two weekends, four midweek nights
The Washington, D.C. Auto Show runs January 22 to 31, 2027 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. A launch team works the four days between the weekends.
The floor clock shapes the trip. Friday, January 22 opens at noon and closes at 9 p.m. Saturday, January 23 runs 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, January 24 runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, January 25 to 28, run noon to 8 p.m. Friday, January 29 runs noon to 9 p.m. Saturday, January 30 runs 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, January 31 runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The entrance closes one hour before the floor.
A weekday ticket costs $15 for adults. A weekend ticket costs $20. Children aged 6 to 12 pay $7 on any day, and children 5 and under enter free. Tickets sell through Eventim.
Why the midweek block carries the team
Midweek hours end at 8 p.m. A product team can work a daytime schedule and walk the floor after 5 p.m. on the same day.
Book arrival on Sunday, January 24 and departure on Friday, January 29 for five nights. A shorter stay runs Monday to Thursday for four nights. Ask each property to quote the midweek nights apart from the weekend nights.
The exhibitor service manual lists Public Policy Day on Thursday, January 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and a Sneak Peek that evening from 5 to 8 p.m. A team that needs the preview books the night of January 20.
A January rate to measure against
The show publishes no group rate. One January rate is public for the same week. The March for Life organiser holds its block at the Westin Washington, D.C. Downtown Hotel, 999 9th St NW, at $203 a night plus tax. Washington adds 15.95% room tax, and the organiser's own room list prices one night at $235.38.
Ten rooms for four nights at $235.38 cost $9,415.20. A quoted block below that figure returns the difference to the launch budget. Ask each property for the midweek rate on its own.
Three airports, Amtrak, Metro inside the building
Events DC names three airports for the city: Reagan Washington National, Washington Dulles and Baltimore/Washington International. Amtrak serves Union Station, and Union Station connects to the Red Line.
The convention center sits above the Mt. Vernon Square/7th Street-Convention Center station on the Green and Yellow lines. The Red Line's Gallery Place-Chinatown station is a five-minute walk. A team that lands at National reaches the venue without a car.
The building holds 2.3 million square feet, with 703,000 square feet of exhibit space. A team that plans to cover the floor in one pass splits the walk by hall.
The address is 801 Allen Y. Lew Place NW. Older listings print 801 Mount Vernon Place NW, the former name. Send drivers the current address.
Booking steps
Start with the room count and the bed plan. A launch team of 12 in six doubles needs six rooms and pays more per head than the same team in quads. Send the dates, the room count and the bed mix to the hotels near the venue.
The group rate request goes through the RFP form at bookmyteam.org/rfp/submit. The rate calculator at bookmyteam.org/group-rate-calculator returns an estimate before the request goes out.
Confirm three facts in writing with each property. Name the check-in date, the cancellation window and the rate for each night of the stay.
