Two Days, Two Nights, One Tuesday Start

Esri FedGIS runs February 9 and 10, 2027 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, 801 Allen Y. Lew Place NW, Washington, DC 20001. Tuesday and Wednesday hold the programme. Book Monday February 8 and Tuesday February 9 as the two nights, and fly the delegation home Wednesday evening.

Registration covers every scheduled conference event: the plenary session, technical training, professional development sessions and networking events. The plenary brings Esri president Jack Dangermond and federal government speakers. Digital certificates of completion are available on request. Specialized programs cover AI and GIS, conservation and environment, geospatial data ecosystems and foundational data management, imagery and remote sensing, indoor mapping, oceans and weather, and safety and security. The Esri Expo runs a Hands-On Learning Lab with 45-minute self-paced lessons and an Expo Social.

Who Pays What

Esri publishes the whole ladder. A general attendee pays $899 on early bird pricing through October 23, 2026, $949 through January 8, 2027, and $999 late or on-site. US federal government employees attend complimentary with no deadline. State and local government employees pay $299 early bird, $349 standard and $399 late. Non-US national government employees attend complimentary. Education, student and Esri Young Professionals Network member rates sit at $179. Nonprofit, nongovernmental and international organization staff attend complimentary. Exhibitors and sponsors pay $899.

Take a six-person agency delegation of five federal employees and one contractor. Those badges cost $899 before October 23, 2026. A team of five general attendees costs $4,495 on early bird pricing, $4,745 at standard and $4,995 late. The October 23 cut-off saves $250 on the second mix.

Two References Per Person

Registration runs per attendee. Each person needs an Esri Events account, and that account carries no link to any other Esri or ArcGIS Online account. Each person also needs a customer number, and the registration desk at confregis@esri.com resolves missing numbers before registration opens.

Collect both references before the room request goes out. Badge confirmations then arrive on one schedule and the rooming list holds.

Room Counts Against the Badge List

Six delegates in single rooms need six rooms and 12 room nights across the two nights. The same six paired into three doubles need three rooms and six room nights. The platform's glossary defines a group rate as a block of 10 or more rooms, so ask each property for its own minimum before you size the request.

Send one request covering every room. A bookMyTeam request reaches 50 or more hotels per destination. Hotels return group rates and terms within 24 to 72 hours. Offers land in one dashboard. The delegation contracts with the property and pays the hotel directly. Submitting the request costs nothing, and the platform adds no commission to the rate.

The Cancellation Ladder Sets the Block Rule

Esri's terms step down in three places. A cancellation received after January 11, 2027 forfeits 50 percent of the registration fee. A confirmed registrant who cancels after January 26, 2027 forfeits the full fee, and a registration received after that date is not eligible for a refund. Substitutions are allowed at any time. Cancelling a registration leaves the hotel reservation standing.

Substitutions protect the badge spend into the last week. The room block needs its own protection, so ask for the attrition percentage, the release date and the cancellation terms in writing. Register the federal attendees first, since their badges cost nothing and fix the headcount, then price the paying seats against the October 23 cut-off.

Getting Six People to the Door

The Mt. Vernon Square/7th Street-Convention Center station sits under the building on Metro's Green and Yellow lines, and its entrances lead into the Convention Center. Gallery Place-Chinatown on the Red Line is a five-minute walk. Amtrak runs into Union Station on the Red Line.

Events DC publishes no public parking at the Convention Center, and over 3,000 spaces sit within a three-block radius. Ronald Reagan Washington National is 4.9 miles from the building, Dulles is 29 miles out, and BWI is 31.5 miles out. A Monday arrival from any of the three puts the delegation in the room for a Tuesday morning start.

Paper for the Approver

Free proceedings from 2024, 2025 and 2026 sit on the event site. Esri also publishes a customizable justification letter for managers who need the trip on paper. Registration support runs at 1-888-377-4576 and confregis@esri.com.

Esri publishes no room rate and no host hotel for the 2027 dates. The rate arrives with the block offers, and the room-and-tax split sits on the property's confirmation. Budget the badge line from the published ladder and leave the room line to the bid set.

What to Send

Send the two nights, the room-type split, the badge count by category and the attrition question in one submission at /rfp/submit. Take a first read on the band from the group rate calculator. Confirm every Esri Events account and customer number before the request goes out, so the rooming list holds from the day it is filed.
