Two published dates, one weekend

The San Francisco Italian Heritage Parade and Festival puts its 2026 calendar on two fixed dates, and a team outing can be built on both. Il Gran Ballo: La Dolce Vita After Dark runs Saturday, October 10, opening at 5:30 p.m. at the Westin St. Francis Hotel on Union Square. The parade steps off Sunday, October 11 at 12:30 p.m. from the foot of Jefferson and Powell Streets in Fisherman's Wharf. The organiser publishes both times on its own pages.

Saturday evening: the ball

The Board of Directors of the San Francisco Italian Heritage Parade hosts the ball. The published dress code is black tie, the format is no host cocktails, and the Lucky Devils Band plays. Tickets are on sale through the organiser's event page, which publishes no ticket price, no seating plan and no table size.

The venue sits on Union Square. The organiser publishes no room block, no nightly rate and no booking cut-off for the ball. A group arranges its own rooms, and that is the first item on the list.

Saturday afternoon before black tie

The Saints Peter and Paul Bazaar runs Saturday and Sunday, October 10 and 11, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The organiser lists it as the 109th annual bazaar. It puts a daytime option on the Saturday calendar ahead of the ball, and it sits in North Beach, the district the parade crosses the next day.

Sunday morning: mass, then the step-off

High Mass is at 10:00 a.m. Sunday at Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 666 Filbert Street. The parade starts two and a half hours later, at the other end of the route. A group choosing both moves across North Beach in between.

Admission to the parade is free, and the free admission includes the Bank of America Concorso Italiano Auto Show. The 2026 Grand Marshal is the actor Joe Mantegna. The Civic Grand Marshal is Bernie Orsi. The organiser says parade viewing is available throughout the entire route.

The route, as the organiser prints it

The parade covers 1.3 miles. It begins at Beach Street and Jefferson Street, proceeds west on Jefferson Street to Leavenworth Street, then along Columbus Avenue to Stockton Street, to Vallejo Street, back to Columbus Avenue and to Filbert Street. It ends in Washington Square in front of Saints Peter and Paul Church.

Washington Square and the church sit in North Beach, and Fisherman's Wharf anchors the start.

Eating along the route

The organiser lists nine restaurants that seat guests on the street along the parade route: Original Joe's, (415) 775-4877; Piazza Pellegrini, (415) 397-7355; Tony's Pizza Napoletana, (415) 835-9888; Italian Homemade Company, (415) 712-8874; Palermo II Delicatessen, (415) 937-0161; Firenze by Night, (415) 392-8585; North Beach Restaurant, (415) 392-1700; Mona Lisa Mare e Monti Restaurant & Bar, (415) 398-1300; and Steps of Rome Trattoria, (415) 875-9721. The organiser calls the street seating a prime way to watch the parade. A group that wants those tables should reserve early.

Getting the group around

The parade pages publish no shuttle, no parking plan and no road-closure list. They route visitors to SF Travel for hotel recommendations and for getting around San Francisco. The weekend's two anchors sit on Union Square and in North Beach, and the ground between them is walkable. A group that books rooms near either anchor removes the transport question for the Sunday step-off. Parade questions go to parade@sfitalianheritage.org. The organiser's mailing address is 678 Green Street, San Francisco, CA 94133, and the office number is (415) 434-1492.

Rooms: what bookMyTeam adds

bookMyTeam lists 562 hotels in San Francisco ready to respond to a group request. A group rate here means a negotiated rate for a block of 10 or more rooms per night. The platform's own FAQ adds that some hotels may offer discounts for as few as 5 rooms depending on season and availability, which matters for a smaller crew.

Requests go to 50 or more hotels per destination, and hotels respond in 24 to 72 hours. Group rates run 15 to 40 percent below the best available rate. Submitting is free, the group pays the hotel directly, and the platform adds no markup.

What to put in the request

Lead with the two dates. A Saturday check-in on October 10 and a Monday check-out on October 12 covers both published dates in two nights, with Friday, October 9 as an optional arrival night. Ask for 10 or more rooms to reach the group tier. Mark the group type as Corporate Event or Team Building on the form. Name Union Square or North Beach as the preferred areas, because the ball and the parade end sit in those two districts. Then compare the offers side by side and pick the property that fits.

Send the request through the bookMyTeam group request form. The platform's how-it-works page carries the process, and the San Francisco city directory sets a target rate.
