Five colleagues, one Moscone trip
SEMICON West 2026 runs Tuesday, October 13 through Thursday, October 15 at Moscone Center in San Francisco. The organiser also publishes a pre-show day on Monday, October 12. Three passes are on sale: the Expo Plus Pass, for the exhibits, the keynote presentations and the sessions on the expo floor stages; the Thought Leadership Pass, for the forums and symposiums on market outlooks, cybersecurity, AI, quantum computing, advanced packaging and test; and the All-In Pass, which adds VIP badge pick-up, daily lunch and the VIP Lounge.
The five-person saving
The registration site asks whether the team is attending together and answers it directly: save on registration when booking for 5 or more. A separate group pass page runs the group booking engine. Organisations registering 5 or more participants are eligible for group pass discounts, and 10 or more participants qualify on Expo Plus Passes. After purchase the organiser issues a custom promotional code, and each participant registers individually with no separate payment.
The group ladder reads: Expo Plus, first ten at $130 each and each additional pass at $100; Thought Leadership, first five at $630 each and each additional pass at $480; All-In, first five at $945 each and each additional pass at $720.
The registration site publishes standard rates for a single booking. A SEMI member pays $1,230 for the All-In Pass, $945 for the Thought Leadership Pass and $340 for the Expo Plus Pass. A non-member pays $1,625, $1,245 and $440. The organiser's key dates put the end of early bird rates at June 26 and the end of advance rates at September 25. A booking made now sits at the standard rate.
Dates that bite a late roster
One deadline still governs. Cancellation refund requests had to be submitted in writing no later than October 1, 2026, and carry a $25.00 processing fee. After October 1 the organisers accept substitutions only, and those must be submitted in writing from the original registrant.
The substitution route is what a group uses when the roster moves after the cut-off. The organisers cancel the original registration first, then reply with a promotional code, and the replacement registers with that code. Every substitution request must come from the same email address used for the original registration. For a five-person booking assembled a week out, that is the mechanism that protects the fifth seat.
The colleague travelling with family
The show floor carries an age rule. Children under 12 are not permitted on the show floor. Participants aged 12 through 18 must be accompanied by a guardian at all times while on site. A colleague who brings family to San Francisco can hold a show registration and plan the family's daytime separately, because the under-12 rule applies to the floor itself.
Rooms: the block has closed
Housing ran through a separate reservation system, and the organiser's key dates put September 25 as the last day to book inside the discounted block. The travel page describes blocks of rooms reserved for attendees at special rates, chosen for proximity to Moscone Center, with availability from May. The housing pages now read that housing is closed and that hotels take changes and cancellations from October 1. A group booking now negotiates with the property.
A group request does the work here. bookMyTeam lists 562 hotels in San Francisco ready to respond. A group rate on the platform means a negotiated rate for a block of 10 or more rooms per night, and the FAQ adds that some hotels may offer discounts for as few as 5 rooms depending on season and availability. Requests reach 50 or more hotels per destination, hotels answer in 24 to 72 hours, group rates run 15 to 40 percent below the best available rate, and submitting is free with direct payment to the hotel and no markup.
Five is the number that matters. The registration saving starts at five, and the small-group room tier starts at five. A request for five rooms across three nights, arriving Monday October 12 and departing Thursday October 15, matches the published pre-show day and the three show days.
