The 2027 AAD Annual Meeting runs March 19 to 23, 2027 at Moscone Center, 747 Howard Street, San Francisco, California 94103. The American Academy of Dermatology opens registration November 18, 2026 at 12 p.m. noon CT for physician, life and honorary members, and November 24, 2026 at 12 p.m. noon CT for all remaining categories. Early-bird pricing ends February 17, 2027 at 12 p.m. noon CT. Standard rates apply after.
Two dates decide the room side
Housing booked through the AAD closes Wednesday, February 24, 2027. From Friday, February 26, 2027, the hotel charges the credit card lodged as the reservation guarantee one night's room and current sales tax, and the Academy states that deposit is non-refundable. The guarantee card must expire in March 2027 or later.
Hotel changes run on their own clock. Reservations can be edited online until 12 p.m. noon CT on February 24, 2027. The Academy accepts no changes and no cancellations between Thursday, February 25 and Sunday, February 28, 2027. From Monday, March 1, 2027, changes go directly to the property. Switching hotels after February 25, 2027 forfeits the one-night deposit.
What a cancellation costs
The published fee ladder is specific. Cancelling a registration costs $100, except for registrants booked in the Medical Student and Guest categories, who pay $25. A category change carries a $100 processing fee.
Notice of cancellation goes by email to aad@maritz.com. The Academy refunds requests received before 12 p.m. noon CT on Tuesday, March 16, 2027 minus the applicable fee. Requests after that deadline receive no refund. A no-show is treated as having missed the same deadline and is ineligible for a refund. On-site registrations are not refundable.
Hotel cancellations carry a separate charge. Until 12 p.m. noon CT on February 24, 2027 the fee is $100 per reservation. After that point the charge becomes one night's room and current sales tax per cancellation. Both charges apply regardless of the reason or the method.
Membership is a registration prerequisite
The member rate depends on a membership record. Members must be in good standing at the time of registration, and the Academy's review window runs seven to ten business days.
Three membership deadlines sit in front of the meeting. October 30, 2026 is the last date for new international, affiliate and adjunct applicants to submit the online application with all required documents marked complete. February 10, 2027 is the last date for Fellows and Associate applicants to complete the application, pay dues in full and be approved, which unlocks registration at the early-bird rate. March 10, 2027 is the parallel date for the standard rate.
A membership application filed in January loses the early-bird window even with the registration page open.
Badges travel with one person
The Academy does not allow name changes and publishes registration as non-transferable. An attendee cannot hand an individual name badge to a replacement traveller. The conduct policy states that fraudulently allowing someone to gain access to sessions, social events or exhibits on another person's credentials is grounds for immediate removal of all parties from the meeting.
Session purchases have their own cut-off. From February 17, 2027 at 12 p.m. noon CT session purchases become non-refundable. New sessions can still be added, and any updated badge has to be collected at the meeting.
Building the room budget
The AAD publishes its deadlines but not its registration rates on the public meeting pages. The pass price has to come from the registration desk. The rate card from the meeting's advertising partner lists eight hotels in the block, and it names the San Francisco Marriott Marquis as the headquarter hotel.
Take a labelled example. Six rooms for four nights, checking in Friday, March 19 and out Tuesday, March 23, is 24 room-nights. At $300 a night the gross is $7,200. A 15% group discount lands at $6,120, 30% at $5,040 and 40% at $4,320. Those are the planner's own inputs.
bookMyTeam publishes the band it works inside: 15-40% below rack rates, 50+ hotels per request, responses in 24-72 hours and $0 markup, because the group pays the property directly. Most hotels quote group rates for 10+ rooms per night, and some discount from 5 rooms depending on season and availability. The platform's San Francisco directory lists 562 hotels on a 15 October 2026 read. Start with the group rate request and price the block against the San Francisco directory.
The exhibit hall sets the working day
The exhibit hall sits on the Lower Level of the North Building and hosts more than 300 exhibiting companies. Published hours are Friday and Saturday, March 19-20, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, March 21, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Unopposed exhibit hours run 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on all three days. The AAD Resource Center sits at Booth 4725.
Two practical rules for the group
Registrants in the United States who complete registration and payment by the early-bird deadline have materials mailed before the meeting. International badges are collected on site, so a mixed team needs two arrival plans.
The Academy warns that unaffiliated companies have posed as the official registration and housing provider on lookalike websites. Maritz Global Events is the legitimate registration and housing partner, and FHT Global manages group room packages.
Two on-site rules matter for a practice travelling together. The Academy does not admit infants or children under 16 to educational sessions or the Technical Exhibit Hall. Handcarts, trolleys and rolling bags are barred from the exhibit hall during show hours, and coat and baggage check is available on site.
