The two-night shape
The Oregon Convention Center lists Aloha Portland Showdown 2027 DI/DII in Halls B-C on January 9 and 10. The venue's event record runs from 8 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday. The venue page carries one instruction for the clubs: Registration Required, with a phone line at 800.840.4772. The page publishes no session grid. The run of show belongs to the organiser and the room nights belong to you.
Two nights, Saturday and Sunday, is the count for a club flying in for this weekend. A coach who wants the team in the building before an 8 a.m. Saturday start adds the Friday night.
Why the list has to hold
The same building carries a second event that weekend. The Build, Remodel & Landscape Show runs in Hall A from Friday, January 8, to Sunday, January 10. Two events share one underground garage and one set of loading docks. The rest of January carries the same load. The Food Northwest Process & Packaging Expo takes Hall A on January 13 and 14. Major League Table Tennis runs January 15 to 17. The PDX Invitational takes Hall C from January 22 to 24. The Portland Wedding Show and the World Oddities Expo share the January 23 to 24 weekend across Halls D and E. FAN EXPO Portland fills Halls A-A1-B-C from January 29 to 31.
That calendar is the argument for signing the block early. Name the property, the night count and the room count, and hold the list against the organiser's cut-off date.
The eight-mile airport run
The convention center sits eight miles from Portland International Airport, by the venue's own figure. MAX light rail stops 300 times a day near the front door and connects riders to downtown and to the airport. The Portland Streetcar A Loop arrives at the NE MLK and Hoyt stop every 15 minutes. A group arriving in one wave can move athletes on the train and send coaches with the luggage in the van.
Set the van against the garage clock. The garage opens at 6 a.m., which covers a Saturday warm-up. A Friday arrival puts the team in the building for a walk-through the night before the competition.
The parking arithmetic
The standard entry rate is $15 for up to 18 hours with no in-and-out privileges. Over 18 hours carries additional fees. Event days carry a dynamic rate of $15 to $25 at garage entry. There are 800 spaces, entered from NE Lloyd Boulevard on level P1 with 7 feet of clearance or from NE First Avenue on level P2 with 9 feet.
Check the vehicle rule before the club rents anything. The garage does not accommodate RVs, campers, trucks with trailers and similar oversized vehicles. Overnight parking is prohibited on site. A team van parks in the garage. A trailer carrying mats needs another plan, and the venue publishes 566 metered spaces within three blocks. The drive-through booths accept cards and phones only.
Walking distance to the nearest members
Four bookmyteam.org directory members sit within half a mile of 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, measured straight-line from the venue: Hyatt Regency Portland, 375 NE Holladay Street, 0.19 miles; Inn at the Convention Center, 420 NE Holladay Street, 0.20 miles; Hotel Eastlund, 1021 NE Grand Avenue, 0.23 miles; Courtyard Portland Downtown/Convention Center, 435 NE Wasco Street, 0.36 miles. The Portland directory lists 278 hotels, and that is the supply you shop in a January weekend.
Engine's rate index puts Portland at $124 a night across 1.2 million public par-rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. January averages $109, level with December at the bottom of the twelve-month table, against $145 in July. Price the two nights against that band rather than against a single property's quote.
The room list the property needs
Five columns, filled from the roster. Athlete name as it appears on the ID. Arrival and departure dates, room by room, because a Sunday departure after a 6 p.m. close books differently from a Sunday morning departure. Bed configuration, since four athletes and one coach rarely resolve into double-doubles without a decision. Chaperone assignments, named against the rooms they cover. The two holding nights, Saturday, January 9, and Sunday, January 10.
Add one line to the request: late checkout on Sunday, quoted in writing. The venue record closes the block at 6 p.m. A 12 p.m. checkout leaves the programme buying lobby time it can price in advance.
What the organiser owes you
The venue page publishes a registration phone line at 800.840.4772 and the organiser's site. It publishes no host hotel, no block code and no cut-off date. Ask the organiser for the housing route before you ask a property for a rate, then put the two answers side by side. If the organiser runs an official block, the club's rooms belong in it. If the club negotiates alone, the team hotel booking route or the group rate request carries the rate conversation.
One number for the parents: the venue is a cashless building, so the concession stand and the parking booth take cards and phones only.
