The Clock
The 20th Annual National BBCB Summit runs Tuesday 2 March to Friday 5 March 2027 at the Tampa Convention Center, 333 S Franklin Street. The City of Tampa record sets the opening at 12pm on the Tuesday and the close at 2pm on the Friday.
That pair fixes three nights. A cohort arrives Tuesday morning, sleeps Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and checks out Friday ahead of the 2pm release. A Monday night adds a day of hotel spend ahead of a noon start, and the Friday close leaves the afternoon for a return flight. The venue publishes 16 minutes from the airport.
What the Summit Is
The organiser describes more than 400 participants from more than 150 educational institutions, with 800 community members attending. The programme runs theme-based workshops that put students and practitioners in one room, plus special student sessions. The event is open to students of any background.
The city record bills the 2027 edition as the 20th annual and notes that BBCB now trades as Believe. Build. Complete. Become. The archived page the venue links carries the 19th annual edition and dates it 4 to 7 March 2026.
Three Nights, Thirteen Rooms
The count that sets the budget is rooms multiplied by nights. A cohort of 20 students in double occupancy needs 10 rooms. Three chaperones in single occupancy need 3 more. Thirteen rooms across three nights is 39 room-nights.
Two levers move that number. Chaperones sharing twin rooms take the block to 12 rooms and 36 room-nights. A fourth night adds 13 room-nights. Per-diem runs on the same night count, so three nights carry three dinners and three breakfasts, while Tuesday lunch and Friday lunch fall inside the programme day.
No Rate Is Published Yet
The venue links a Cvent page for summit details. That page now presents the 19th annual edition as an archived event and states the page no longer exists. No 2027 registration page and no 2027 housing block are live.
That gap sets the booking sequence. A department cannot price a room rate from an organiser document. It can fix the room-night count, hold the block through a hotel or a housing service, and take the rate when properties respond. Ask each property for the rate on the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights, the attrition percentage, the deposit schedule and the rooming-list deadline. Nothing in the organiser's pages answers any of the four.
The Garage Takes the Coaches
The Convention Center garage at 141 E Brorein Street holds 454 spaces, with 11 ADA spaces and two EV chargers. The event rate runs $5 to $50 and the non-event rate is $3 an hour with an $18 daily maximum. Clearance is 6ft 6in, and the venue publishes no long-term parking at the building.
A multi-night coach or van parks at Fort Brooke, 107 N Franklin Street, with 556 spaces and 6ft 8in clearance, or at Pam Iorio, 301 Channelside Drive, with 790 spaces. Both allow overnight visitor parking to 6am.
Front Drive at 333 S Franklin Street carries 36 metered spaces at $4 an hour, 8am to midnight, with no overnight parking. It works as a drop point for a Tuesday morning arrival. Overnight parking there is not allowed.
Free Wi-Fi Covers the Working Day
The venue publishes free Wi-Fi in all public areas and meeting rooms, and outside at The Sail Plaza. Exhibitor internet runs through SmartCity at a daily fee.
A cohort that files attendance, posts session notes and runs a shared roster needs connectivity through four days. The venue network removes a data line from the trip budget and a hotspot per chaperone.
Where the Rooms Sit
Embassy Suites by Hilton Tampa Downtown Convention Center connects to the building by sky bridge. Tampa Marriott Water Street and JW Marriott Tampa Water Street sit 0.2 miles out. The Westin Tampa Waterside sits 0.3 miles. The Tampa EDITION, Hilton Tampa Downtown, Hyatt Place and Hyatt House, and ROOST Tampa sit 0.5 miles out.
A student cohort on a fixed schedule gains two things from the sky bridge. Every session move stays indoors, and the programme days need no vehicle count.
bookMyTeam's help centre excludes California, Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington from its service and cites seller-of-travel registration and a surety bond for Florida. This summit sits in Florida, so the block runs direct with the property. The room-night count above still sets what the department asks for.
