March 14, 2027: fifteen blocks of Little Havana

Calle Ocho Music Festival runs March 14, 2027, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., along Calle Ocho from SW 12th Avenue to 27th Avenue. Admission is free. The footprint covers 15 street blocks. Carnaval Miami runs the festival through volunteers of the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana to fund the Kiwanis of Little Havana Foundation's youth development programs. The organiser reports an average of one million attendees across the Carnaval Miami series each year and puts the series at $40 million of economic impact for local artists, vendors and small businesses. Its pages call Calle Ocho the largest Latin music festival in the nation.

Fifteen closed blocks, eight hours, a Sunday. The corporate calendar has to absorb all three.

The Monday meeting is the harder problem

The festival closes at 7 p.m. The organiser publishes no street reopening time, no teardown window and no parking-restriction schedule. A Monday morning meeting inside the district plans against an unknown. Book the earlier arrival slot, and keep a walking leg or a ride share in reserve for the last mile.

The same holds for a Monday departure out of Miami International. The drive that takes ten free-flow minutes on an ordinary day ends inside a district the organiser gives no reopening time for.

Airport routing

Miami International Airport sits at 2100 NW 42nd Avenue. OpenStreetMap routing puts the drive to the Miami Dade College surface lot at 2620 SW 5th Street at about 7 km and 10 minutes in free-flowing traffic, by way of the Dolphin Expressway west, then NW 27th Avenue south, then SW 6th Street. On March 14 the final leg meets the closure, so the plan parks outside the closed blocks and walks in.

The VIP window: 12:30 to 4

VIP Passport registration opens at 12:30 p.m. and closes at 4 p.m., which the page calls last call. Pickup happens at the Kiwanis Registration Tent in the Miami Dade College surface parking lot.

The page prints two addresses for that lot. The tent note reads 2501 SW 6th Street, described as 6th Street and 27th. The parking block reads 2620 SW 5th Street, Miami, FL 33135. Hand the driver both.

The passport covers Latin food and drink samples, access to several music stages, private transportation across the 15 blocks, lounge access, a commemorative lanyard and reserved parking. The VIP window runs 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Drink-sample wristbands require age 21 or over. The 2027 passport is not on sale yet. The page reads coming soon.

Set the flight against the 4 p.m. last call. A landing time that looks comfortable against the opening hour can still miss the tent.

Where the team sleeps

GMCVB's August 2026 Miami-Dade report carries no Little Havana row. The two adjacent regions it publishes are Downtown Miami at $278.28 average daily rate year to date at 75.1 percent occupancy, and the Airport region at $155.63 at 80.3 percent. Both figures cover January through August.

Ten rooms for one night come to $2,782.80 on the Downtown figure, or $1,556.30 on the Airport figure. Ten rooms for two nights come to $5,565.60 and $3,112.60. March sits outside the report's window, so label each figure a year-to-date benchmark through August.

bookMyTeam defines a group rate as a block of 10 or more rooms per night. Its how-it-works page notes that some hotels discount from five rooms depending on season and availability.

bookMyTeam cannot process a Florida request yet. Its seller-of-travel page, last updated October 18, 2026, states that the platform cannot process hotel booking requests from residents of or for travel to Florida until its Florida Seller of Travel registration is obtained. The page names Hawaii, Iowa and Washington on the same list, cites Chapter 559 of the Florida Statutes, and routes questions to compliance@hotelhuddle.com.

A Little Havana block goes to the property directly until that registration appears. Size the block with the group rate calculator, then send the request to each hotel and get the cancellation deadline in writing.

What the organiser does not publish

Four gaps to close by phone or email before the trip. No 2027 VIP ticket price, because the passport page reads coming soon. No parking rate at the Miami Dade College lot. No street reopening time for the Monday after. No food vendor list for 2027, which matters for a team that plans a meal break inside the footprint.

Write the answers into the trip sheet next to the registration window and the 4 p.m. last call. The festival's own published facts are firm: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., 15 blocks, SW 12th Avenue to 27th Avenue, March 14, 2027, free admission.
