CANVAS 2026 runs Sunday 1 November through Wednesday 4 November at the Oregon Convention Center, 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Portland. The venue books the meeting into Halls A1-B-C. The organiser counts 4,000+ attendees.
What a one-day badge costs
A member one-day ticket costs $660. A nonmember one-day ticket costs $760. Both prices have held since 3 October. Through 2 October they were $560 and $660.
A full professional registration costs $910 for a member and $1,210 for a nonmember at the current tier.
Two member one-day tickets cost $1,320 against $910 for the full meeting. The gap is $410. Two nonmember one-day tickets cost $1,520 against $1,210. The gap is $310.
The split that beats both
Send the principal researchers on full registrations. Fly a single specialist in for the day the programme sits on.
Six staff on full member registrations cost $5,460. Four full registrations plus two one-day member tickets cost $4,960. The split saves $500. On a nonmember team of six, full registrations cost $7,260 against $6,360 for the split. The saving is $900.
Registration covers the exhibit hall, the opening and closing receptions, sessions and the limited virtual programme. It covers no meal. Workshops run $25 to $125 on top of registration.
Six official hotels, priced
The Societies publish six official properties with contracted rates through 12 October. Rates are per room per night before tax, in single, double, triple and quad order.

The hotels page prints 1441 NE 2nd Ave against the Crowne Plaza and against the Hilton. Confirm the Hilton street with the housing desk before a driver works from that line.
Rooms for six
Six staff in three double rooms across four nights is 12 room-nights. The DoubleTree costs $2,460, the Hilton $2,208, the Hyatt $2,820. The Hyatt-to-Hilton difference is $612 for the same 12 nights.
bookMyTeam publishes group rates for blocks of 10 or more rooms per night. Three rooms sits under the threshold. A request reaches 50+ hotels per destination, and hotels answer within 24 to 72 hours. The Portland directory lists 278 hotels.
The block has closed
The hotels page sets the reservation deadline at Monday 12 October, 10 p.m. EST. The dates page prints 7 October as the hotel reservation deadline. Both dates have passed. Treat every rate above as a reference, and confirm a live number with the property or with Orchid Events, the official housing provider, on 888-307-6880.
Group block requests for 10 or more rooms closed on 14 September. The organiser routes later bookings through the attendee flow.
Cancellations ran free through 21 September. They took a $40 fee from 22 September to 12 October. They now run through the hotel, and the hotel keeps the one-night room-and-tax deposit.
Election Day is the Tuesday
CANVAS falls on Election Day in 2026. The organiser's travel page asks attendees to vote absentee or vote early and publishes a voter toolkit. Tuesday 3 November is day three of four.
Fix the vote before the trip. A polling stop on 3 November costs a session block. The day starts with the SSSA Plenary at 7:30 a.m., and the poster session runs 4 to 6 p.m.
Badge pickup and parking
The registration desk opens Saturday 31 October, 4 to 7 p.m. It runs Sunday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday and Tuesday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and closes Wednesday at noon.
The underground garage holds 800 spaces. Entry costs $15 for up to 18 hours with no in and out. Event days carry a dynamic $15 to $25 at entry. P1 clears 7 feet and P2 clears 9 feet. The garage opens at 6 a.m., takes cards only, and prohibits overnight parking. Four event days of parking run $60 to $100 per vehicle. MAX light rail stops 300 times a day at the front door. The airport sits eight miles out.
What to confirm before booking
The organiser publishes no group registration rate. Ask the registration desk which sessions a one-day ticket admits. Ask for the day-by-day grid before you book a single-day flight.
