The dates and the daily clock
Slam Dunk runs Saturday 6 March and Sunday 7 March 2027 in Hall D at the Oregon Convention Center, 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Portland, OR 97232. Pacific Coast Cheer Co. Brands organises the weekend.
The organiser's event flyer prints one clock for both days. Doors open 7:30 a.m. Warmups begin 8:00 a.m. Competition starts 8:30 a.m. Awards run throughout the day. A squad that flies in Friday and flies home Sunday evening holds two nights.
Registration is required. The venue page carries that line, and the organiser's Register Here control opens regchamp.com. Neither the venue page nor the flyer publishes an entry fee or a registration deadline. Ask for both in the first email.
One hall, one floor plan
Hall D is the event's whole footprint. One hall means one load-in door, one stage, one warmup area and one seating map. Send the floor plan to every coach, and the parents driving in on Saturday morning will find the entrance the team used at 7:30 a.m.
The venue's March 2027 calendar lists four other bookings across the same two days: Jump Dance Convention in the Oregon Ballroom from 5 to 7 March, Starpower National Talent Competition in Halls A-A1, Abby's Closet Prom Gown Giveaway in Hall C, and the U.S. World Open Taekwondo Championships in Hall E on the Saturday. Oregon GOSH holds Halls D-E through 4 March, two days before Slam Dunk's first morning. No venue statement on hall readiness exists. Put the readiness question to the organiser in writing before you commit a truck.
The coaches packet carries the ground rules
The flyer states that a coaches packet will be sent out prior to the event, and that general coaches information sits on the organiser's website. Treat the packet as the document that fixes arrival windows, staging order and hall access. Build the rooming list against it, then confirm each item once it lands.
The venue page lists one event contact: 253.339.0710, alongside pacificcheercobrands@gmail.com. Put both on the cover sheet you hand to every coach.
The jersey is a grand-champion award
The flyer prints "Compete for those custom basketball jerseys!" and a badge reading "CUSTOM BASKETBALL JERSEYS FOR GRAND CHAMPIONS!" The jerseys go to grand champions. The organiser publishes no registration-date incentive and no early-entry price.
Awards follow the competition through both days. Each athlete receives a medal after performing. Placement banners are presented during award ceremonies throughout the day. The specialty list covers a Sportsmanship Award, Most Spirited Fans, a Pizza Party, an Ice Cream Party and a Wave Runner Award. A team competing Saturday and returning Sunday should stay for the closing ceremonies.
One rate request, no published rate
The flyer describes the hotel arrangement in its own words: "We are not stay to play, but we offer great rates with our partnering hotels." The route it prints does not load. On 20 October 2026 the domain pacificcoastcheerbrands.com returned no address, so the partner property list, the event rate and any booking code stay unpublished.
A block of ten or more rooms across Friday 5 and Saturday 6 March needs a written quote, and the quote needs a cancellation date, a deposit term and a room-release window. The group rate calculator prices the ask before you send it, and the RFP form puts the request in front of competing properties. bookMyTeam's Portland directory lists 278 hotels if the partner property cannot hold the block.
Getting a squad into the garage
The venue garage holds 800 spaces at $15 for up to 18 hours, with no in-and-out privileges. A dynamic rate of $15 to $25 applies at entry on event days, so budget the higher figure for a Saturday. The garage opens at 6:00 a.m., ninety minutes before doors. Clearance is 7 feet on P1 off NE Lloyd Blvd and 9 feet on P2 off NE First Avenue. There are 10 accessible spaces on P1 and 11 on P2. RVs, campers and trucks with trailers are not accommodated, and overnight parking is prohibited.
The venue states the garage can reach capacity on busy event days and recommends public transport. MAX light rail stops 300 times a day near the front door, the Portland Streetcar A Loop arrives every 15 minutes, and TriMet bus 6 stops at NE MLK and Holladay. TriMet charges $2.80 for a 2.5-hour adult ticket and a rider pays nothing more after $5.60 in a day. The airport sits eight miles away.
The building is cashless, including the parking booths. A reverse ATM in the MLK Lobby loads cash onto a prepaid Visa in one load with no fee, and a driver holding cash can take the garage ticket to a self-pay kiosk.
Tickets at the Booth on Arrival
The organiser's Buy Tickets notice reads "PRE-SALE IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS EVENT" and directs buyers to the ticket booth on arrival. The flyer repeats the line. No gate price is published.
What to put in the rate request
Send the property five questions: the nightly rate for 5 and 6 March, the number of rooms held at that rate, the date unreserved rooms return to general sale, the cancellation term, and whether a team meeting room comes with the block. Ask the organiser three more: the coaches packet date, the Friday hall access window, and the Sunday finish time. Two answers set the flights, and the third sets the bus.
Book Friday and Saturday nights, then build the travel day around the Sunday close. The booking process and the sports team hotel guide cover the rest of the sequence.
