December in Tampa runs on two calendars
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay runs Christmas Town on select dates from November 13, 2026 through January 4, 2027. The park's event page lists the hours as “park open to park close” and the price as included with park admission. The operating calendar sets the clock for each date. Read the calendar for the two December days before anyone signs a hotel contract.
The 2026 run adds A Very Merry Cirque, an acrobatic show. Christmas on Ice plays the Moroccan Palace Theater, the Serengeti Light Show runs outside the Serengeti Overlook Restaurant, and Storytime with Mrs. Claus runs at the Canopy. The returning pieces are Santa's Workshop, the Holly Jolly Express train, Rudolph's Winter Wonderland, nearly 70 miles of lights, and the tree lighting at Cheetah Hunt Plaza. The tree lighting runs at 7:00 p.m. on November 13, after a live broadcast from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Three dated blocks sit inside the window. Hanukkah runs December 4 to December 12, with a menorah lighting at 6:00 p.m. each night between the Moroccan Palace and the cheetah habitat. Three Kings runs December 21 to January 4, with the Three Kings Journey Show at Dragon Fire Grill. December 31 runs 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.
Which room holds the meeting
The park publishes a capacity for every group venue. TreeTop Kitchen seats 100 at banquet on the third floor of the Serengeti Overlook Restaurant. Springs Taproom holds 100 at reception. The Canopy holds 100 guests. Oasis Pizza and Giraffe Bar holds 150 at banquet and 300 at reception. Gwazi Event Pavilion holds 300 at banquet and 400 at reception. Dragon Fire Grill holds 600 at banquet and 1,000 at reception. Pantopia Theater holds 500. Stanleyville Theater holds 1,200 in stadium bleachers. Moroccan Palace holds 800 in theater seating.
A board meeting for 40 people lands in TreeTop Kitchen. A 250-person awards dinner lands in Gwazi Event Pavilion. A 700-person general session lands in Dragon Fire Grill, or in Stanleyville Theater when the room needs a stage and tiered seats.
The private events page sells holiday parties at Gwazi Event Pavilion through Christmas Town. It also rents exclusive park areas at a 200-guest minimum and sells a full park buyout at a 3,000-guest minimum. Venues carry audio-visual capability. Gwazi Event Pavilion lists built-in theatrical lighting, a screen, a projector and an in-house AV booth.
Food comes from the park
The group events page describes catering for “a corporate gathering with breakfast and lunch, or an elegant evening reception”, prepared on site. The picnic package lists all-day park admission, one hour of all-you-care-to-eat buffet, a private picnic venue, personalized signage, an on-site coordinator, and a microphone, podium and music.
The park publishes no menu price. Ask group sales for a per-person figure across the two days, with the beverage line separate and the service charge named.
The numbers the park leaves unpublished
Nothing on the venues page, the private events page or the picnic page carries a venue rental rate, a food and beverage minimum, a deposit schedule or a cancellation term. Treat all four as open items and request each one in writing.
One figure is published. A single-day group ticket for 15 or more starts at $56.99, against a $150.99 rate printed on the same product card. The two-park ticket lists $106.00 against $227.99. Both are starting figures, and the date selection sets the final price. Groups of 100 or more and youth groups book by phone at (813) 987-5523 or by email at bgt.groupsales@buschgardens.com. Group tickets are not sold at the gate.
Downtown Tampa, measured
The park sits at 10165 N McKinley Drive, Tampa, Florida 33612. Road routing from the Tampa Convention Center at 333 S Franklin Street to that address runs 9.9 miles and about 18 minutes. Road routing from Tampa International Airport runs 15.6 miles and about 28 minutes. Both are routing estimates on the day of the check, and traffic on I-275 moves them.
Two days inside the park keep every session on the park side and add no drive. Two days in a downtown meeting hotel keep the sessions downtown and put the park trip on a coach. Each arrangement carries the transfer once.
What the hotel column needs
Ask each downtown property's group sales office for the meeting room rental, the food and beverage minimum, the resort or service fee, the parking charge per car per day, the cancellation ladder and the attrition clause, all in writing. Ask for the cut-off date on the room block and the minimum stay attached to it. A December block in Tampa competes with the Christmas Town calendar and with every other holiday party in the city.
bookMyTeam does not process hotel booking requests for travel to Florida. The company's help page reads: “We serve the United States, excluding CA, FL, HI, IA, and WA.” It records Florida's exclusion as Seller of Travel registration and a surety bond, and dates that page to July 3, 2026. The same exclusion applies to California, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington. Compliance questions go to compliance@hotelhuddle.com. The route to a Tampa room block is the property's own sales office.
The booking order
Fix the two dates against the park calendar first. Ask the park for a written proposal covering the venue, the two-day food plan and the group tickets. Send the same dates to two downtown properties. Compare the totals with the transfer included. Sign the venue before the room block, because the venue fixes the dates.
