The Miami-Dade County Fair opens its gates for five School Field Trip Days in spring 2027. Each day admits Miami-Dade County students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Teachers and chaperones enter free. Field trips run 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Admission is free inside those hours. Ride access costs $15 per person through a Field Trip Unlimited Rides Wristband. Sales open November 27, 2026.
The five dates and the grade band on each
The organiser publishes one table that fixes the grade band, the region and the ride access for each day. Two of the five dates split the county by region.
Friday, March 19 carries elementary grades 3 through 5 from every region. Every midway ride runs except Kiddieland and Kiddieland Too.
Friday, April 2 carries pre-K, kindergarten and grades 1 and 2 from every region. Kiddieland, Kiddieland Too and select midway rides run that day. This is the one date of the five built around the youngest riders.
Wednesday, April 7 carries middle school grades 6 through 8 from the Central region. Every midway ride runs except the two Kiddieland areas.
Thursday, April 8 carries middle school grades 6 through 8 from the North and South regions, with the same ride list as the Wednesday.
Friday, April 9 carries exceptional students from every region. Select rides run at reduced speeds, and concessions are limited.
What the $15 covers
The wristband buys access to the rides listed for that day. Admission stays free, so the wristband is the one per-person charge the fair publishes for a field trip.
A chaperone who rides needs a wristband at the same $15 as a student. A chaperone who walks the grounds with the class needs none.
Why November 27 is the date to hold
Sales open November 27, 2026, a Friday. The field trip page prints the price and the start date in one block.
The Buy your tickets online control links to a placeholder anchor today. The route the page does publish is the ticket desk at tix@fairexpo.com. Put the party size, the chosen date and the grade band in the first email.
Fixing the party list
Two counts drive the order. The rider count sets the wristband quantity, because the band is sold per person. The full party count sets the bus seats and the school paperwork.
The fair lists students, teachers and chaperones as free admissions. Put every adult who will ride on the wristband line beside the students.
The fair publishes no chaperone ratio. Each school sets its own.
Rules that change the day
Entertainment shows stay closed on field trip days. Private vehicles, backpacks and strollers are not permitted. The fair rents no wheelchair, stroller, scooter or wagon during field trips.
The fair publishes no alternative for a class that needs a stroller or a wagon for a student. Confirm that case with the fair before the visit.
The four-hour window sets the bus plan. A party that arrives at 9:30 loses half an hour of ride time, and the 1:00 PM close holds.
The learning stops
Arnold Hall holds student projects. The page names The Barn and The Garden for South Florida agriculture.
Howdy Tours runs on dates outside the five field trip days. The programme takes second and third grade classes into The Barn on Wednesday, March 31 and Thursday, April 1, 2027. Each tour runs about one hour inside the same 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM window. Registration opens October 19. Every student leaves with a souvenir.
The 2027 fair runs March 18 to April 11, with closures on March 29 and 30 and on April 5 and 6.
The meal window
Fair Expo Grille sells the field trip meal deal: one slice of cheese pizza or a hot dog, plus a juice. The fair publishes no price for it. Group pricing and orders go through info@fairexpo.com.
The backpack rule covers food as well. A class that brings its own food carries none of it onto the grounds, so the meal order belongs in the plan.
If the class travels in
The gates open for Miami-Dade County students. A class from outside the county registers through its own school and arranges its own travel.
The fairgrounds sit at 10901 Coral Way, Miami, FL 33165. A routing check on 2026-10-18 put the drive from Miami International Airport at 8.7 miles and about 20 minutes.
The fair publishes no housing partner for field trip days. A party that needs a night books rooms directly. bookMyTeam publishes group rates at 10 or more rooms a night, and some hotels discount from five rooms depending on season and availability. Five rooms at a planning rate of $160 a night come to $800. The request goes in on the bookMyTeam RFP form, and the group rate calculator prices the stay before the request goes out.
