The IHSAA boys swimming and diving state finals run Friday, Feb. 26 and Saturday, Feb. 27, 2027 at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis. A district commits rooms for swimmers, divers and coaching staff months before that weekend. Two published dates decide how many people the block has to hold.
Two Dates Set The Headcount
The IHSAA 2026-27 Seasons at a Glance lists a roster deadline of Friday, Nov. 20, 2026 for boys swimming. Boys basketball shares the date. First practice is Monday, Nov. 9, 2026 and first contest is Monday, Nov. 23, 2026, so the roster lands inside the first two weeks of the season.
The second date is the tournament entry-list deadline for boys swimming: Thursday, Feb. 11, 2027. Sectionals open a week later, and the entry list fixes the participant list the IHSAA office receives.
One further date carries the coaching line. The officials rating period for boys and girls swimming runs Jan. 11-18, 2027.
February Runs Long At The Natatorium
The venue's own events calendar lists four blocks in February 2027: the Jaguar Aquatics Winter Invitational on Feb. 5-7, the IHSAA girls championships on Feb. 12-13, the Horizon League championships on Feb. 17-20 and the IHSAA boys championships on Feb. 26-27. Sectionals come on Feb. 18 and Feb. 20, and the diving regionals on Feb. 23. The calendar carries a standing note that events are subject to change, and it was updated Sept. 2, 2026.

The office line is 317-274-0336 and administrative hours run Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The facility publishes a seating capacity of 4,700, describes itself as the largest indoor aquatic facility in the United States, and reports more than 100,000 competitive swimmers and fans attending each year.
The Block Is Signed Before The Team Is Known
Sectionals finish on Saturday, Feb. 20. The diving regionals follow on Tuesday, Feb. 23. The state finals open three days later. First through eighth place at a diving regional advance to Indianapolis, and the top 16 in each swimming event from the Friday preliminaries return on Saturday.
That gap is the approval problem. A district signs a room agreement in the fall, with the qualifying field still three months away, so the party size at signature is a range. The roster due Nov. 20, 2026 fixes who is on the team. The sectionals and the diving regional fix who travels.
Put both numbers in the file the business office reviews: the rostered swimmer and diver count, and the coaching and staff line. Then ask the property for its deposit terms, its cancellation windows and the last date the block can shrink.
What To Settle Before The Signature
Four documents carry a team trip: the room block agreement, the purchase order, the transportation request and the chaperone list. Name one contact across all four. Give the hotel one arrival date, one departure date and one rooming list date, so families do not book around the block.

What The Last Finals Looked Like
The 2025-26 finals set the working model. Gates opened at 4:30 p.m. ET on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026 for 6 p.m. swimming preliminaries, and at 6:45 a.m. ET on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026 for 9 a.m. diving preliminaries and semifinals and 1 p.m. championship and consolation finals. Admission was $15 per session general admission, with a limited number of $35 reserved seats good for both days, sold digitally through Eventlink. The IHSAA has posted no session clock and no ticket price for 2027.
The Rest Of The City That Week
The Indiana Convention Center hosts the WWETT Water & Wastewater Equipment, Treatment and Transport Show from Feb. 22 to Feb. 25, 2027, and the venue records a forecast attendance of 14,000 for it. Two smaller events land on Feb. 28. The Convention Center counts 7,100 hotel rooms and 200 restaurants downtown.
