A four-day format across six halls

The International Mass Timber Conference & Expo runs March 16 to 19, 2027 at the Oregon Convention Center, 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Portland, OR 97232.

Tuesday, March 16 belongs to the Mass Timber Building Tours. The Conference & Expo runs Wednesday, March 17 through Friday, March 19.

The venue books the event into Halls A, A1, B, C, D and E. The venue's own listing prints March 17 to 20. Book travel against the organiser's March 16 to 19 range and confirm any arrival day with the event office.

The organiser counts 2027 as its eleventh Portland edition, with 90+ speakers, 200+ exhibitors, 3,000+ attendees and 35+ countries.

The pass ladder

Full Pass: General costs $997.50 for Wednesday to Friday. It covers education and keynote sessions, The Boardroom, Advanced Topics, Case Studies, Mass Timber Boot Camp, the Women in Timber Power Hour, both receptions, breakfast, lunch and coffee.

Exhibitor and sponsor passes are $699. Educators, government and non-profit employees pay $725 on a permanently discounted rate that requires a matching .edu, .gov or .org address. Students pay $295 with a student ID or a student email address.

Single days cost $700 on Wednesday, $825 on Thursday and $450 on Friday. Wednesday and Thursday together cost $1,525, which sits $527.50 above the full pass. Friday's pass carries exhibit hall access from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Registration opened August 25, 2026 with a 30 percent early-bird discount on selected passes.

Three passes or more, ten percent on each

The organiser prints one group term on the general full pass and on all three one-day passes. Purchase three or more of these passes for employees of the same company, on the same order, and each pass takes an additional 10 percent off.

Three general passes list at $2,992.50 and clear at $2,693.25. Four passes list at $3,990 and clear at $3,591.

The term reads additional, and the prices page calls the 30 percent early-bird its best discount. Confirm in writing how the two combine before the order closes.

Tuesday's tour is a separate $350 ticket

A Mass Timber Building Tour pass costs $350. It carries coach transport to and from the convention center, lunch, safety equipment, and coffee and doughnuts before departure.

The organiser states that a tour does not include an attendee badge. Tour tickets can be bought on their own, with no conference pass behind them.

All four tours leave at the same time, so a team splits across them or picks one. Tour 1 runs 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tour 2 runs 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., Tour 3 runs 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tour 4 runs 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Every attendee rides the provided bus. Stops can include active construction sites, so the organiser requires long trousers and closed-toe shoes. Three tour passes cost $1,050. Three general passes and three tour passes come to $3,743.25.

Three airline agreements, three travel windows

Delta gives 3 to 8 percent off fares booked for travel between March 11 and March 24, 2027, on meeting event code NM5DF. The discount runs 8 percent on Delta One and First, 5 percent on Premium Select and Comfort+, and 3 percent on Main Cabin, with none on Basic Economy. The Delta Conferences and Events line is 1.800.328.1111, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET.

Southwest gives 2 to 8 percent for travel between March 14 and March 20, 2027, booked at swabiz.com on company ID 90344940. Choice Extra takes 8 percent, Choice Preferred 6 percent, and all other fares 2 percent.

United gives 2 to 7 percent by fare class for travel between March 13 and March 22, 2027, booked at united.com/meetingtravel on code ZT4E973302. United waives booking fees on meeting reservations, and MileagePlus members still earn miles on the discounted fare.

A team that books seats on all three carriers works to three cut-offs. Put the ticketing date on the travel plan beside each traveller's name.

Rooms: a named housing desk, three hotels

IMTC designates MCI USA as its only official housing provider. The housing site lists three hotels for the event, with starting rates of $189 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Portland, $249 at Hotel Eastlund and $249 at the Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center.

The booking route is the Passkey reservation page linked from the event site, which asks for an attendee, exhibitor or government rate first. Every hotel page carries a 72-hour cancellation term against one night's room and tax.

A team needing 10 or more rooms files the sub-block request that the hotel page links. That form lists the Hyatt Regency at $249 per night plus tax and carries a request deadline of January 29, 2027.

MCI states that changes carry no fee or penalty, and that a deposit returns on a cancellation inside the hotel's own guidelines. The organiser also publishes a scam warning.

bookMyTeam publishes 15 to 40 percent below rack rates across 103,857 hotels in 46 states, with 50 or more hotels bidding per destination, and the Portland directory lists 278 hotels. A team that knows its room count can send the same request through the RFP form and compare the replies.

Getting to the hall

The organiser puts PDX roughly 30 minutes from the convention center by car. The MAX Red Line takes about the same at $2.80 one way, and a free light rail pass is handed out at registration.

The venue garage holds 800 spaces at $15 for up to 18 hours without in-and-out privilege, or a dynamic $15 to $25 at entry during events. It opens at 6 a.m., P1 clears 7 feet and P2 clears 9 feet.

What to settle before the order

Check the pass mix against the days the team will attend. Wednesday and Thursday single days total $1,525 against $997.50 for the full pass.

Check the room night set once a tour is booked. A tour that finishes at 5 p.m. on Tuesday leaves the team in Portland on Tuesday night and adds a night inside the block.
