A free Sunday for ten

The Friends of the Japanese Garden run the Fall Festival at the Ichimura Miami-Japan Garden on Sunday November 1, 2026. Gates run 10:30am to 4pm, and entry carries no charge.

The garden sits at 1101 MacArthur Causeway on Watson Island, Miami 33139. Park hours run 9am to 5pm every day.

A team of ten pays for four add-ons and one garage. The rest of the programme costs nothing.

What the ten get free

The free list carries a Bon-Odori ceremony, a cosplay contest with cash prizes, a sushi-making demonstration, taiko drumming by Fushu Daiko, Japanese guitar and flute performances, a haiku discussion and a martial arts demonstration.

Ikebana International Miami Chapter 131 runs two free workshops, 11am to 12 noon and 1:30pm to 2:30pm, in the first tent. Each guest reserves a free ticket online for the session they want.

Put the ten into the 1:30pm workshop. That session runs alongside the second tea sitting, so the group splits between the two tents.

Four items carry a price

The tea ceremony runs $10 a seat, capped at 25 ticket holders at 11:15am and 25 at 1:30pm. Masks are required during the ceremony.

A sushi sample plate runs $10. The demonstration is free to watch.

The yukata experience runs $10 for children and $20 for adults. The session lasts 15 minutes and runs behind the FJG Refreshment tent.

Calligraphy runs $3 for one name and $5 for three names. The ticket desk sells $1 water and items at $2, $3, $4, $5 and $10.

The ten-person arithmetic

Ten tea seats cost $100. Ten sushi plates cost $100. A yukata session for six adults and four children costs $160.

Tea and sushi for ten comes to $200. Add the yukata session and the day reaches $360 before parking.

Parking runs $15 per vehicle with the festival coupon. Two cars cost $30 and four cars cost $60.

Cash only at the gate

The garden prints "Cash Only at the Event" on its own pages. It asks guests to bring small bills for food and beverage purchases.

A ten-person float of singles and fives covers the stalls and the ticket desk. One organiser holds the float.

Online payment runs through PayPal buttons on the ticket page. A payment made after 11pm on Saturday needs the receipt on a phone at the front desk.

One person buys the ten tea seats in a single order and forwards the confirmation.

Parking at Jungle Island

The directions page sends cars to the Jungle Island garage. Jungle Island charges $20 for the day and takes the $5 festival coupon.

The coupon brings the day to $15 per vehicle.

Rain or shine

The garden states that the festival runs rain or shine, that the schedule is approximate and subject to change, and that it issues no rainchecks and no refunds.

Name one organiser for the day. That person holds the tickets, the float and the meeting point at the refreshment tent.

Team blocks in Florida

bookMyTeam serves the United States, excluding California, Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington. Its help page states Florida's exclusion on seller-of-travel registration and a surety bond.

A Miami team that travels in takes the block to the property directly. Ask for the group cut-off date, the attrition term and the cancellation deadline in writing.

Send the headcount and the two nights with the request. Ask the property to hold the block until the tea seats are confirmed.
