Coach Passes, Roster Changes and the October 30 Deadline

The 2026 NW Martial Arts Festival Championships run on Saturday, November 7, at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. Hall A holds the floor. The organiser, U.S. World Class Taekwondo Association, publishes competition hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and closes registration at 11:59 p.m. PST on Friday, October 30.

Two dates sit inside that window. A registration paid online by Saturday, October 24 earns the early rate. A registration completed between October 25 and October 30 carries a $50 late fee. Nothing is accepted after October 30.

The venue's own record runs 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the same date. The organiser's schedule governs the day, and the 5:00 p.m. finish is the figure to plan the drive home against.

What a Coach Pass Costs on Each Date

A coach or media pass costs $100 each when paid online by October 24. From October 25 through October 30 the same pass costs $150. At the venue it costs $150 in cash.

The organiser states that it will not take coaching pass requests by email or text. Registration happens online at uswctkd.com. A club that turns up with four coaches and no passes pays $600 at the door against $400 for the same four bought by October 24.

That gap is the argument for booking staff early. Two passes cost $200 by the early date and $300 a week later. The saving is $50 per pass, and it disappears on October 25.

The $30 Change Fee and the Form It Needs

The organiser lists five kinds of change and charges $30 for each one: name change, belt rank, date of birth, event change, and age division. The fee applies with no exceptions, including changes a club finds while checking its own entries.

A change request needs a revised paper registration form carrying payment information, emailed to uswc888@gmail.com before October 30. The competitor must be registered and paid before the request goes in, so a late entry is a new registration with the late fee attached.

The same form carries the event add-on line. An additional event costs $60, and the arithmetic sits on the form: number of add-ons times $60, number of changes times $30, plus the late fee where it applies. Two changes and one add-on on one competitor comes to $120 on top of the entry fee.

Entry Fees and the Add-On Ladder

Competitor entry is $130 for one event. Each further event is $60. A competitor entered in sparring and forms pays $190. A competitor entered in sparring, forms and board breaking pays $250.

For a club of eight, one event each is $1,040. The same eight in two events each is $1,520. One late registration per competitor adds $400.

Board breaking boards sit outside the entry fee. Each competitor buys their own at the venue for $5 cash. A creative break needs ten boards, which is $50, and a distance break needs one.

Cash at the Gate, Card in the Garage

Spectator admission is $20, cash only, infants free, valid on November 7 alone. Boards are cash. The convention center runs cashless, so the parking booths take card and touchless payment. A coach carrying the team float should split it: cash for the gate and the boards, card for the garage.

Parking, Transit and the Airport Leg

The underground garage holds 800 spaces. P1 is entered off NE Lloyd Blvd with 7 feet of clearance; P2 is entered off NE First Ave with 9 feet. Standard entry is $15 for up to 18 hours with no in-and-out privilege. During events a dynamic rate of $15 to $25 is charged at entry. The garage opens at 6:00 a.m. and overnight parking is prohibited.

TriMet MAX light rail stops 300 times a day near the front door. The venue publishes 8 miles to Portland International Airport. Three vehicles arriving for an 8:00 a.m. start should plan on $45 to $75 across the day, and on a queue if the building is busy.

No Host Hotel, So Build the Block Yourself

The championships outline says many hotels sit next to the convention center and points readers at Expedia. It publishes no block, no rate and no cut-off. The room side belongs to the club.

bookMyTeam lists 278 hotels in Portland with street address and star rating on its Portland directory, and publishes no nightly rate for any of them. Its how-it-works page reads group rates for 10 or more rooms per night, with some hotels discounting from five rooms depending on season and availability. A club bringing six families reaches that floor. A club bringing two coaches books direct.

What Goes in Front of the Club Secretary

Four numbers decide the trip. Coaches: count times $100, paid by October 24. Changes: count times $30, with the revised form emailed before October 30. Entries: $130 plus $60 per additional event. Gate and boards: cash, $20 a spectator and $5 a board.

Then the room side: one night or two, and whether the party reaches 10 rooms. A club that files the coach passes and the change list in the same week as the entries avoids the late fee entirely.

The bookMyTeam how-it-works page explains the room route, and the group rate calculator gives a starting figure for the block.
