Spotlight Dance Cup brings its Portland stop to the Oregon Convention Center for four days in February 2027. The organiser publishes the run as February 4 to 7 with Thursday added. The venue lists February 5 to 7 in the Oregon Ballroom. A studio travelling with a prop trailer meets one limit at this building: the underground garage clears seven feet on one level and nine feet on the other.

Two entrances, two ceiling heights

The garage takes cars at two entrances. P1 opens off NE Lloyd Boulevard and clears 7 feet. P2 opens off NE First Avenue and clears 9 feet. The garage holds 800 spaces and generally opens at 6 a.m.

Both levels carry accessible bays, 10 on P1 and 11 on P2. The 9-foot clearance on P2 serves adapted vehicles.

What the garage refuses

OCC states the exclusion on its parking page. The garage does not accommodate RVs, campers, trucks with trailers and similar oversized vehicles. Overnight parking is prohibited.

A separate line on the move-in page bars overnight parking for recreational vehicles or mobile homes in the garage and in any satellite lot.

A prop trailer therefore has no garage route during show days. The trailer cannot enter either level, and it cannot sit in the lot overnight.

Where the trailer goes instead

OCC publishes the route in two steps. Work with the show manager to confirm the assigned load-in time and the ramp. Unload at the dock, then move the vehicle. The move-in page covers an oversized rig in one line: oversized vehicles can get parking directions at check-in.

The dock sits on NE First Avenue. Drive south on NE Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, turn right onto NE Lloyd Boulevard, continue a tenth of a mile and take the first right.

The building runs 18 loading bays with load levelers, three drive-in ramps and three roll-up doors. It holds 8,000 square feet of indoor dock space, and door openings range from 20 to 22 feet tall and 18 to 20 feet wide.

Prop pieces that ship ahead of the team follow the freight rule. OCC accepts no exhibitor freight or drayage and routes shipments to the show decorator. The show manager holds the decorator's details.

The $15 gate and the no-return rule

Standard entry runs $15 for up to 18 hours with no in-and-out privileges. A vehicle that leaves the garage and returns pays again on the second entry. Stays beyond 18 hours carry additional fees.

On event days OCC charges a dynamic rate of $15 to $25 at the gate. Three show days therefore cost $45 to $75 per vehicle. Four days with the Thursday addition cost $60 to $100. Four cars across a four-day run land between $240 and $400.

The drive-through booths take cards and touchless payment. The building is cashless. A reverse ATM in the MLK Lobby converts cash to a Visa card with no fee.

OCC does not guarantee capacity. The garage can reach capacity on busy days, availability runs first-come and first-served, and overflow may go to satellite lots on a show-by-show basis.

The hotel the organiser booked

Spotlight publishes its own block at the Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center, 375 NE Holladay Street. The group rate is $149 per night with a cut-off of January 15, 2027. The property sits across from the hall, which removes the car from the daily trip.

Registration for the Portland stop opened October 1. A payment by December 28 carries the discount rate, and January 4 is the last day to register at the standard rate. The organiser releases the full schedule roughly two weeks before the competition and posts a named competition ambassador, Claire Patrick, at 208.939.2015 extension 7071.

The Hyatt block covers the room count the organiser negotiated. A studio booking fewer rooms can still ask: bookMyTeam's published terms put most group rates at 10 or more rooms per night and note that some hotels discount from five rooms depending on season and availability. One free RFP reaches 50 or more Portland hotels, and hotels normally answer within 24 to 72 hours. The platform publishes a 15-40% band below rack rates as a benchmark, with no city rate published, so every dollar figure in the request is the planner's own input.

Arriving without the trailer

The building sits eight miles from Portland International Airport. TriMet's MAX light rail stops 300 times a day near the front door and connects to downtown and the airport. The Portland Streetcar A Loop reaches the NE Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Hoyt stop every 15 minutes, and bus line 6 stops at NE MLK and Holladay.

A studio that arrives by transit parks nothing. The trailer stays home, and the set pieces ship to the decorator.

Questions for the show office

Confirm the load-in window and the assigned ramp for a trailer. Confirm where an oversized vehicle parks after unloading. Ask the decorator for the freight address. Confirm whether the Thursday addition carries a separate door time. Hold the December 28 payment date and the January 15 hotel cut-off on the calendar.
