The 68th Annual Fall Portland Metro Dealers RV Show fills Halls A through E at the Portland Expo Center from November 12 to 15. Show hours run 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. That is 34 hours of floor time across four days, and it is the clock a dealer group plans crews and beds against.
Two exits, one address
The venue publishes its own routing. Northbound on Interstate 5, take exit 306B for Marine Drive West. Southbound, take exit 307 for Marine Drive. Signs lead to the Expo Center from either exit.
Send each driver the exit that matches the direction of travel. A crew coming down from Woodland, Washington and a crew coming up from Tualatin reach the building from opposite directions, and one set of directions sent to both puts half the group on the wrong side of the freeway.
The street address is 2025 North Expo Road, Portland, Oregon 97217. Curbside drop-off zones sit in front of each building, which matters when a shuttle is dropping staff rather than parking them.
Who the promoter lists
The promoter, Portland Metro RV Dealers, publishes eight dealer locations on its own site. Seven sit in Oregon: Apache Camping Center in Happy Valley, Camping World in Hillsboro, Camping World in Portland, Curtis Trailers in Beaverton, Curtis Trailers in Portland, Johnson RV in Sandy and RV Country in Tualatin. The eighth is Camping World in Woodland, Washington.
Two published address records need a check before a driver routes to them. The Portland Camping World entry carries ZIP 97060 against the Portland label, and the Curtis Trailers Beaverton entry prints Aloha, Oregon 97006 as its postal city. Confirm both with the location before the crew leaves, because a nav system fed the wrong pairing sends a truck to the wrong lot.
The four-day rota
Three days run nine hours and Sunday runs seven. Staff who work the whole show are on the floor for 34 hours before breaks, and a two-shift plan on the three long days needs a handover window rather than a clean split at the midpoint.
The Thursday opening is 10 a.m., so a crew travelling that morning arrives with no setup time behind it. Dealer staff who need to be on the floor at the open travel Wednesday or take the early MAX.
Parking, and the crew that does not drive
Standard parking is $15 per car per entry. The venue states that prices can vary during special events and accepts cash and major credit cards at its parking facilities. Four show days at the standard rate is $60 a vehicle before any event surcharge. Exhibitors can buy a multi-day pass in advance, and that pass carries in-and-out privileges through the day.
For staff who should not drive at all, the TriMet MAX Yellow Line stops at the Expo Center station, a short walk from the entrance. The adult fare is $2.80 for two and a half hours and the day cap is $5.60, so four days of transit costs no more than $22.40 a person. Bike racks sit next to the MAX stop and outside Halls D and E.
Book the beds against a published count
Neither the venue nor the promoter publishes a hotel block, a host property or a nightly rate for this show. The room side starts with the market count. bookMyTeam's Portland directory lists 278 hotels available, and group pricing on the platform begins at 10 or more rooms per night.
bookMyTeam publishes a group saving of 15-40% below rack rates. Treat that as a benchmark to negotiate against. A worked example, with the room rate as your own input: 10 rooms for three nights at $150 is $4,500, and the published band puts the saving between $675 and $1,800.
Put the dates, the room mix and the number of nights through the rate request route at /rfp/submit. The band is a benchmark until properties answer with offers that can hold the rooms.
Two phone numbers before move-in
The promoter's line is (360) 903-9839, and booth enquiries go there because the venue does not sell booth space. The venue's main line is 503-736-5200.
Two published rules change a crew's setup. Booth services order through the venue's online exhibitor service center, which covers electricity, internet, water fill, natural gas and AV equipment. And the venue prices service orders at a discount when they are placed at least 21 days before the event. For a November 12 opening, that window closes on Thursday, October 22, and late orders and day-of requests cost more.
Assign one person to the service order and one to the parking passes. Both are online, both are cheaper in advance, and neither waits for the crew to arrive.
What to settle before you sign
Four answers decide the booking. How many staff each of the eight locations sends, which nights they need, whether the group can reach 10 rooms and use the block route, and who owns the service order. Take the room questions to the group rate calculator first, then send one request for the whole group rather than eight separate bookings from eight dealer cities.
