The dock sets the roster

The Oregon Convention Center publishes 18 loading bays with load levelers on every bay. Door capacity is 20 feet high by 18 feet wide. The building holds 8,000 square feet of indoor dock space, three drive-in ramps and three roll-up doors into the exhibit halls. Door sizes run 20 to 22 feet tall and 18 to 20 feet wide. For the Portland Build, Remodel & Landscape Show, those numbers describe Exhibit Hall A from January 8 to 10, 2027. They also fix the crew you have to move. A cabinetry sample booth unloads from one trailer. A landscape display arrives on pallets of pavers and needs more hands.

Measure the freight against the door before you book the truck. A 20-foot opening clears a standard dry van. An oversized crate on a flatbed needs a tape measure and a call to the show manager.

Wednesday, January 6, 1 p.m.

The show's exhibitor information sheet opens move-in on Wednesday, January 6, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday morning runs 9 a.m. to noon and takes hand-carried and carted goods only. The organiser asks exhibitors to bring their own cart. Booths marked TH move in Thursday after 4 p.m. Booths marked F move in Friday morning. Check the booth marking against the crew's flight before anything gets booked.

A 1 p.m. Wednesday start puts a crew on the floor by early afternoon. The venue publishes three access rules for that first hour. The loading docks sit off NE First Avenue. Hall A is reached through the North Loading Dock. Entry to Exhibit Hall A from that dock is allowed only during the published move-in and move-out windows. During show hours the North Loading Dock is not an entrance, and staff redirect every attempt to the check-in office between loading bays 9 and 10. Badges come from the exhibitor check-in desk near the docks.

The garage will not take the truck

The OCC garage refuses RVs, campers, trucks with trailers and similar oversized vehicles. Overnight parking is prohibited on site. Clearance is 7 feet on level P1 off NE Lloyd Boulevard and 9 feet on level P2 off NE First Avenue. The garage holds 800 spaces. The standard entry rate is $15 for up to 18 hours with no in-and-out privileges. Event days carry a dynamic $15 to $25 charge at garage entry. The garage opens at 6 a.m. The drive-through booths accept cards and contactless payment only.

Give the driver the venue's route. Drive south on NE Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Turn right onto NE Lloyd Boulevard and continue 0.1 miles. Take the first right onto NE First Avenue. Move the vehicle out of the dock once the trailer is empty.

Book the people who build

The public runs Friday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The sales team works the public hours. The build crew carries the early arrival and the late exit, so the room block belongs to them.

Move-out runs Sunday, January 10, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday, January 11, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The organiser states that exhibits not cleared by 11 a.m. Monday are moved by the decorator and stored at the exhibitor's expense. The same sheet asks that valuable electronics leave Sunday night. That rule writes the room nights. A crew that dismantles Sunday needs four nights from Wednesday, January 6 through Sunday, January 10, or five from Tuesday, January 5. A crew that hands the booth to show staff on Friday at noon needs three.

Distance to the nearest directory members

Four bookmyteam.org directory members sit within half a mile of 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, measured straight-line from the venue: Hyatt Regency Portland, 375 NE Holladay Street, 0.19 miles; Inn at the Convention Center, 420 NE Holladay Street, 0.20 miles; Hotel Eastlund, 1021 NE Grand Avenue, 0.23 miles; Courtyard Portland Downtown/Convention Center, 435 NE Wasco Street, 0.36 miles. The Portland directory lists 278 hotels. Request rates through the group rate request, and price the week on the group rate calculator before you send it.

Engine's rate index puts Portland at $124 a night across 1.2 million public par-rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. January averages $109, level with December at the bottom of the twelve-month table, against $145 in July.

Four asks for the request

First, the dock appointment. Name the ramp, the bay and the January 6 time. Second, badge collection at the check-in desk near the loading docks. Give the desk a name. Third, electrical. Booth space carries none, and the Oregon Convention Center sells it directly at 503-731-7918 or OCCExhibitorServices@edlen.com. Fourth, furnishings and forklift service. The decorator Fern Expo handles both at 503-228-6800.

Freight goes to the show decorator. The convention center will not accept or ship exhibitor freight or drayage, so a shipment that lands at the dock without a name on it stops there. The show manager is Deana Escudero with L&L Exhibition Management, 612-213-9200, deanae@homeshowcenter.com. Admission runs $5 for adults and free for children under 18, which matters when crew families travel.
