A one-day conference is a one-night trip

The 47th Annual NPH Affordable Housing Conference ran on September 24, 2026 at Moscone Center in San Francisco. Doors opened at 8AM and the conference ended at 5:30PM, per the Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California conference page. That window is the whole trip. A manager sending a team needs one night, and the travel day is the day before.

NPH publishes its own scale on the sponsor packet. More than 1,200 housing leaders attend. The packet lists developers, lenders, public agencies, policymakers and advocates. Registration for the 2026 edition is now closed and the calendar entry reads "This event has passed." The useful work now is sizing the next delegation against the published shape of the day.

Who to send

The audience breakdown on the sponsor packet is the roster guide NPH publishes. Developers are 35% of the room, lender and investor roles 15%, public agency staff 15%, policy and advocacy 10%, construction and contracting 8%, architecture and engineering 7%, and other 10%. A delegation drawn from several disciplines reaches more of the room.

Two named routes exist for questions. Oksana Amador, Fund Development and Membership Associate, handles sponsorship. Estephanie Sunga, Program and Events Director, handles other conference questions. The association office is at 49 Stevenson Street, Suite 500, San Francisco, CA 94105, on 415.989.8160.

Splitting three workshop sessions across a team

The abbreviated schedule is published and it gives three decision points. Workshop Session I runs 9:15 to 10:30 in the morning. Workshop Session II runs 1:30 to 2:45. Workshop Session III runs 3:15 to 4:30. Each block is 75 minutes.

That shape suits a team of three or four. One person takes each session and reports back at the next shared break, so the delegation returns with notes from three rooms. The blocks between the workshops are working time. The Keynote Plenary runs 10:30 to 12:30, lunch runs 12:30 to 1:30, and the afternoon break runs 2:45 to 3:15. The day closes with a Networking Reception from 4:30 to 5:30.

Build the roster around the sessions the manager cares about most. The keynote and the reception carry the introductions. The reception is the final hour and it sits after the last workshop. A same-day evening flight cuts that hour.

Booking one night when no room block is published

NPH publishes no host hotel, no nightly rate and no room block on the conference page or the sponsor packet. The planner negotiates each term with the property.

bookMyTeam publishes its group rate at a block of 10 or more rooms per night, and its how-it-works page adds that some hotels discount for as few as 5 rooms depending on season and availability. A four-person delegation sits below the block threshold, so the request goes in through the site.

The platform's San Francisco directory lists 562 hotels available. bookMyTeam publishes group rates at 15 to 40% below the Best Available Rate, a $0 fee line, and a 24 to 72 hour response window, with 50 or more hotels replying per destination. No city rate is published, so treat the percentage as a benchmark.

The working day, in order

September 24, 2026 was a Thursday. A team flying in the night before books Wednesday night, checks out Thursday morning, holds bags at the property, reaches Moscone for the 8AM doors, works the day, and flies home Thursday evening or Friday morning. The conference itself runs 9.5 hours.

Three asks belong in the request: a 7AM breakfast start, a late checkout or bag hold, and a room release that carries no penalty if the delegation shrinks. Submit at bookmyteam.org/rfp/submit, select Conference / Seminar as the group type, and let the competing properties answer the rate question.

What the organiser leaves open

Five questions have no published answer on either NPH page, so they belong in the room request. There is no host hotel and no nightly rate. There is no block size, no cut-off date and no release clause. The organiser publishes no block for this edition.

That is the case for putting the request in early. The request needs the dates, the room count and the number of nights, and the properties answer the rest. Three rooms for one night read differently to a hotel than three rooms across three nights, so the request should say Wednesday check-in and Thursday check-out in plain words.
