March 14, 2027, downtown Portland
Shamrock Run Fest runs March 14, 2027 in Portland, Oregon. Five distances start at SW Naito Parkway and Pine Street: half marathon, 8K, 5K, 5K walk and the Doernbecher Leprechaun Lap. The half goes at 7:20 a.m., the 8K at 9:00 a.m., the Stride Walk at 9:50 a.m., the Leprechaun Lap at 10:20 a.m. and the 5K at 11:15 a.m.
The organiser bills the event as Portland's longest running tradition and puts it close to fifty years old. The exhibitors page counts 17,000 or more participants.
The $4 discount, worked
Every team runner takes $4 off the registration fee. The 8K sits at $55 in the current release, so a team entry costs $51. Three runners save $12. Twelve runners save $48. Sixty runners save $240.
The half marathon sits at $95 and a team entry costs $91. The 5K sits at $42, the Stride Walk at $39 and the Leprechaun Lap at $20.
Each distance also carries a final release at a higher price: $136 for the half, $75 for the 8K, $59 for the 5K and $55 for the Stride Walk. A roster that closes early holds the current fee.
The perk ladder sets the roster target
The organiser ties perks to team size. Ten to 19 members bring bibs by mail and a free t-shirt for each participant. Twenty to 39 members add a beer for each participant. Forty to 59 members add a reserved 10 by 20 foot space in the team village. Sixty or more add a 10 by 20 foot tent with the team name on it.
Captains receive a recruitment kit at registration: the captains community, recruitment posters and videos, social media and email graphics, chat groups with other captains, and informational PDFs. Team questions go to teams@shamrockrun.com.
The distance pages list what an entry includes: a race shirt, a finisher medal, a timing chip in the bib, one beverage at the beer garden and refreshments at the finish. The 2027 shirt and medal are not yet published.
The expo carries the bib
Every entrant collects a bib at the Race Expo inside the Oregon Convention Center, 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. Entrants who buy race-day pick-up or hold a mailed team packet skip that visit.
The exhibitors page prints Friday, March 13 from 2 to 6 p.m. and Saturday, March 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Race day is a Sunday, so read those labels as the Friday and Saturday before the race: March 12 and March 13, 2027.
A proxy can collect a bib with a copy of the runner's driver's licence and the confirmation barcode email, for up to three people. Race day packet pick-up runs from 7 a.m. at the north end of Waterfront Park, in the bib tent across from Oak Street, for a fee set at registration. The organiser also ships team packets to a captain.
Bring photo identification and the confirmation email. Confirmation emails go out the week of the race.
Build the weekend
Friday, March 12: arrive, check in, and walk the expo between 2 and 6 p.m. Bibs come out of that visit.
Saturday, March 13: the 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. window covers anyone who lands late on Friday. The afternoon holds the team dinner.
Sunday, March 14: the 8K goes at 9:00 a.m. and finishes at SW Naito Parkway and Stark Street. Check out in the morning, leave the bags at the desk, and book the flight for the afternoon.
The host hotel
The organiser's hotel page names the host property at 319 SW Pine Street, Portland, Oregon 97204-2726, phone +1 503-279-9000. The rate starts at $174 per night, includes a 3.00% mandatory charge per stay and excludes tax. Three room types are offered: a studio king, a two-room suite with a king and a two-room suite with queens. The page lists free hot breakfast, an evening reception, a pool, hot tubs, a sauna and 12 event spaces.
That page still labels the property the 2025 host hotel. The Hilton booking link beside it carries the code shamrockrunportland2026. Confirm the 2027 rate and code before the room goes on a card.
Two nights at $174 comes to $348 per room before tax. Six rooms for twelve runners comes to $2,088 for the weekend.
Where the group rate starts
A crew of twelve fits six double rooms. Group programmes start at 10 rooms a night, so twelve runners sit below that line.
bookMyTeam lists 103,857 hotels across 46 states and sends each request to 50 or more hotels per destination. Its Portland directory shows 278 hotels.
Registration plus rooms for twelve 8K runners comes to $612 in entry fees and $2,088 in room cost, or $2,700 before tax and travel.
A twenty-person crew at two to a room clears the ten-room line and moves the room side onto a bid.
What the captain does first
Create the team before the first runner registers. The $4 comes off at the entry, and a runner who registers alone pays the full fee. Send the confirmation email and the bib number to every runner. Collect the proxy names in one list if the expo visit splits across two days. Hold the roster at the release boundary the budget carries, and take the tent at sixty.
